Can you put this in a US Celica?

Yes.

To my knowledge, no one has done this. The reason is because it would be so expensive. That JDM unit is a full automatic climate control unit. This means that you will need not only the face to get it to work, but all the sensors, computer, and motors to operate it, or else it will be useless. There will be difficulties hooking up the vent that controls whether or not the car draws air from outside or re-circulates the cabin air because that is currently controlled mechanically by a pulley, and this thing controls it electronically. I'm not sure how deep this climate control unit will go into your cars electronics. For all I know, the ECU that controls this might be the same main ECU in your engine bay that controls every thing else. If that is the case, you will need a JDM ECU. This will cause problems because the US cars have emission devices not used in Japan, plus the Japanese ECU is set up for 100 octane fuel, among other things...

But still, anything is possible. It will probably cost a ton of money just to import all the parts over, not to mention what it would cost to get it to work correctly. It would definitely be a really cool mod to do though, it sure does look a heck of a lot better than the "fisher price" style controls that we get.

I think we came to the conclusion that it is not worth the effort. I just wish they had that here in the US. Wonder what those marketing guys are thinking???

Well my GTS is equipped with this panel. I am from HongKong but even the sole agent in here doesn't sell Celica with this climate control. I own a GTS of Japanese version.

I had David Draper price the whole unit out for me. The cheepest he could get it for was about $5500.00. And that's just parts, you'll have to gut the inside of the car to put it in. The space is there for the additional parts but it's no easy task to put them in.
