How much do you have towards the Celica right now? Ask him if he'll pay the amount he would've for the Civic and you pay the difference for the Celica maybe? I dunno, just a thought. Also, if the Civic's free for you and the above statement doesn't jive with him too good, take the Civic right now and use it as a trade-in for the future when you do buy your Celica, should shave some G's off the price. Just don't waste money modding the Civic while you got it :D

If it were me, I'd take the Civic to tie me over till I'm out of school and get a good job. But I like Da Kine Guy's response too.

Well, I got my 2001 GT-S in the beginning of January this year for $17,900 before the tax&fees so I am guessing you should probably expect to pay the same for a 2002 in 2003 around the same time next year. You might wanna consider getting a 2001 instead, though, because of the 2002's lower fuel cut, making it harder to stay in lift on the shifts since you are gonna be buying used anyway.

2004 is going to be the design change, so it is coming up shortley. There are several rumors about the new Celica that will be coming out in 2004. One of them is that it will no longer be a Toyota, but will instead be manufactured under a totally different company. But again, thats just a rumor...

Black_Celica, you live in Canada, you should buy a WRX. AWD for the snow and 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds

If you really like the Maxima, don't rule it out as an option, I think that the new Maxima's are really nice. I would say that the first thing that you need to do is figure out exactly what kind of a car you want to be driving. The Celica is a sports car. The Maxima is not.
