i got a email back from these guys about the SC

Hi There

Currently we do not offer a complete kit for DIY fitment on the 2000+
Toyota
Celica, we do however, have a base setup available which would just
require
the end user to have pipework and mountings for the intercooler to be
made
up.

The kit includes the following parts:

Supercharger unit
Supercharger bracket
Supercharger oil cooler
Supercharger drive belt
Idler pulley
Intercooler
Uprated fuel injectors
Uprated fuel pump
Air filter
Apexi Power FC
Recirculating dump valve

All that is required by the end user is to mount the intercooler, oil
cooler
and fabricate pipework for which we will provide a guide layout.

The Power FC comes pre mapped to suit a low pressure application of
6~7psi,
on the 140 Toyota Celica this will give around 200bhp and 140lb/ft of
torque
to the wheels, the 190 Toyota Celica will have around 270bhp and
180lb/ft of
torque to the wheels.

Cost of these systems is

Some more tuning will be needed to adjust for the crappy California 91 octane....but looks like a really nice kit!

$6,013.08 is a bit much don't you think?
For that kind of cash you could get the DA Turbo kit and still have cash left over for custom head work and low comp pistons.

Perhaps for the GT, but for the GT-S, our choices are a bit limited at the momment to fi kits that cost $5k and above.

where did you get 6013.08 from? Becuase from the website Japspeed told me to go to for conversions, it was only a little over 4000. Im probably wrong, but just wondering how you figured that.

The conversion rate is waaay off! 3800 Euro does not equal 6K US.

The conversion is about 1.12

BlackSheep5

ok ya your right the conversion was off i was thinking pound not euro so its $4,106.05

Not really, he barely posts on the site he set up, www.celica-club.co.uk

He's just mega-busy at Japspeed now. But it's going well - the stuff he's doing with the 1zz and 2zz is making a LOT of important people turn their heads :)

How much power is the charger making for the 2zz? I tried to read the threads but man I can't understand the kings english. Help me out here Stephen. Also, how come the dynos look all funky. I can't understand anything on that page. Sorry I'm an ignoramous.

the 190 Toyota Celica will have around 270bhp - which translates to how much wheel horse power?

Bing
09-29-2003, 08:51 AM
around 230 whp. 15% was taken off bhp to calculate the whp.

Sorry to bring this back for the dead, but what ever happened to this supercharger project for the GT-S?

Not sure... Nobody wants to locate people who can make brackets and pipes I guess. Shipping on this is gonna be high as well. It is a quality setup, would love to have one :)

hmmm looks interesting. Anyon knwo why on all celica supercharger systems their is no bov. I have read that jackson has one for the rsx. Anyway I bet with some fine tuning you could get like 270 whp. Depends on the blower's capabilities.

You can get your HP up by changing the pullies for supercharger (need custom fab so not gonna be cheap), but around 200HP is where it is safe for everyday driving and cheap U.S. gas.
