I'm getting a weird sqeak from the back whenver I go over speed bumps or when I break hard. I have Eibach springs and a Suspension Techniques rear sway bar.

I took it to the dealer and they told me that it's the sway bar rubbing against the bushings. I find this a little hard to beleive.
And they want to charge me $120 to take it apart to lubricate it.

Any idea what's really happening? Anyone have the same problem?

Thanks.

could be ur struts...or just ur bump stops hittin the top of the struts..dont worry about it..i think all of us LOWERED cars have these squeaks ever so often...until we get new struts..ive been hearing this too..its normal

It could be the passenger rear triangular window pillar area.
It sounds like metal flexing

I had the same problem.... It took Toyota 7 months and three dealerships to fix it... The first two dealerships said it was a broken welde near the passenger rear pillar. The third dealership said it was two panels above the passenger rear strut tower that were out of place and when the body flexed, the two panels rubbed together. They realligned the panels and I have only heard the creaking sound once in the past 4 months (I went over a huge speed bump).

Be carefull when take your car in for warranty because one dealership dented my passenger door and gave my car to me wet, so I would not notice the dent... I had pay for a dent repair company to remove the dent, as Toyota were being complete a$$holes about it. If you drop off your car, go around the vehicle with the service manager and make he/she takes note on the condition of the outside and inside of your vehicle (if they are not carefull, they will dent the back plastics).

BTW, I have another rattle area and it is located in the back hatch door trim (right on the inside of the back hatch area). I am going to pop that piece off and apply felt around the edges of the back hatch door trim and that should eliminate the rattling going over bumps

I hope you have better luck than I did...

Yeah i have had the htach door trim make the noise. sometimes its the felt that coems off on the peice that covers your trunk, you know when you lift the trunk its tired by two little rops it comes up. other tiems the squeek came from the spare tire area, that big nut that holds it down. also it could be the struts, and or bump stopps i get that alot. i hate freakin noises!
