Yeah it made a difference I was suprised. The car seems to rev up a lot quicker now and it sounds different. The car makes a rotory like whine when revving, and it rev's a lot faster!!!
Seems as though for a 40+lbs weight reduction and some free HP, its a worthy mod for any car. BTW: I have used my AC one time since I've owned my car.

Are you turning this into a straight track car or something? seems a little overboard for a daily driver to me. I know youve already ripped out the interior and now no ac.

Thats crazy!, I would die with out my AC. but then again is a lot cooler in Cali.

If this wasn't my daily driver and I raced with it all the time, I'd consider taking the A/C out and making something cool out of the button. I'm the same way though, I hardly EVER use my A/C. I had my RAV4 for 2 years, and I used the A/C a couple times, and that was simply because my dad is a wuss and can't stand wind blowing in his face. I've had the Celica for about a month, and I've used the A/C a couple times and that was only during my test drive.

I'm simply fat, an A/C is a must if the tempature is above 70 degrees.

I can't live w/o A/C...Unless i'm driving a Jeep, A/C is a must.

Wow! I'm with crazyJ and baNanA_ryCe on this one. Here in New Orleans the AC system is more for life support than comfort. Without it, you would just drop dead from the heat  and humidity. :faint:

I never ever use my AC even in my Celica. I like the windows rolled down. In my mom Rav 4 the AC makes me sick.

I like the windows rolled down too, but I discovered its better to have both the A/C and windows at the same time

i've heard from several people that an A/C system takes a big toll on your horsepower...especially on 4 cylinder cars. it's a good mod if you think you can handle the heat...but i wouldn't think of trying it houston-i use my A/C throughout the winter, i wish you could get the same effect by removing your heater!

AC takes up 30-50 hp when engaged depending on the compressor design.

Well...when I put the H22 in my car in a week or so, there is no way that I am going to keep the AC. I could keep it if I really wanted, but it would cost me a couple hundred dollars and I'd just end up ripping it out when I put an aftermarket header on the car (that's the only way a header made just for the H22 swap will clear). I live in FL and I NEVER use my AC anymore, except when someone is riding with me, and now, I guess people will just have to learn how to live with no AC when riding with me.
I'm also losing power steering...that's a good weight reducer as well, and it does give you a little more power, but the question is whether you could stand not having power steering in a car as big as the WRX, it isn't that bad in a smaller car like the del Sol.

I don't use my AC except to cool myself off in traffic or for other people. I have my T-tops to take off and I receive all the cooling I could ask for. I wouldn't dream of taking off in a rex though. So when are you going to start rallying that panda?

I am turning her into a Track car. I am hoping to get the suspension finished by the end of the year and start throwing her around buttonwillow seriously.

i took the AC out on my miata to make more room for the SC.. and i loved it! not like an AC is neccessary on that car anyways.. but i loved out the engine performed without that thing in there.

Me too!!! I love doing that on a hot day. My girlfriend yells at me saying its stupid and I should do one or the other but I like to have the windows down and if its too hot out I don't like to sweat so I turn the A/C on as well.

Times: I should be running 8.5's in the 1/8th but my uppipe lost its seal again today, so hopefully I can pull it off with a solid launch and some good weather. Wish i lived somewhere where it wasnt 100+ degree's outside.

The AC in the WRX is pretty worthless. It comes out very humid and it never gets very cold.

Damn that sucks, I didnt know that. If I wanted humidity I'd just roll down my windows. Scratch off the WRX as a possible new car candidate for me.

The A/C is the biggest down fall of the car, but ****, I didnt buy it for AC :D. Also I think the 04's the AC problem was solved.

Don't have to worry about that here :)
But in all reality, I havent used the AC in any of the cars I have owned.
