Question about cruise control

My cruise control isn't working at the moment. I never use it but I noticed it one day when I was messing around with it. I also have a CEL. I haven't scanned the code yet, but do you suppose there is a code for broken cruise control? I'm not sure if OBD-II has a code for that.

I was thinking about heading to Toyota and asking them to remove the cruise control altogether instead of fixing it. I was looking at it under the hood and it looks like you would have to run the cable straight to the throttle body instead of through the cruise control unit.

I'll probably bring it to Toyota tomorrow.

If it's under warrante make them fix it, it's not your dime. Don't remove it you never know when you might want it on a long trip. And the resale value of the car will go down if it doesn't have it.

Yo Maelf, did you check it out under the hood? Mine got disconnected somehow and all I had to do was just plug it back in. The box should be located on the left side (when facing the front of the car) of the engine bay and can be opened very easily. let us know what you find.
