Hmmm, well I would consider what that GT-S driver did to be rice, and the flyby and the reckless driving.. gives us a bad name. If someone launches faster than me at a light or tears ass past me at a light, provided it's remotely safe, I will downshift and try to catch up. Maybe get in a race or two, or at least to give the patented :thumbup: But that reckless driving and ricer sh!t...? That's just retarded.

I've done that sh!t ONCE when I still had my S-10, because the lady in front of me was being a BITCH, so when I finally managed to get in front of her, she got the same treatment. What did I care, it was a beat up old farm truck? :gap: I had just turned 16, so I admit to being reckless and careless.

However, the WRX IS faster than the GT-S stock for stock, and will always launch quicker. If I could have afforded it, I'd be driving a Rex over a Celi. *Shrug* Every car is made differently and to do different things. It happens.

The thing is.... I could have bought a wrx, but I didn't.
I dislike the looks, since i'm still pretty young(22). It's old fashioned and really needs remodelling.

My celica is more expensive then the wrx, looks better(my opinion) and had a new generation.
Sorry, I ain't buying a car that looked the same for like forever.

Sure, wrx's go fast..... but is that all what you want in a car?

P.S. I'm not trying to bash any wrx owners, just giving my 50 cent.

Wrx's can look sick....they jus need a few touch ups here and there just like any other car...but it's nothing the aftermarket can't handle :)

Everyone knows a stock wrx will beat a stock celica, from a roll and from a stop.

Just no going around AWD turbo power.

I love my celica but I know who I can and cant take. gotta be realistic. The celica isn't a supercar, nor the wrx, but the WRX is a faster 1/4 mile car than the celica is stock for stock.

and matt I like the way your car looks! The wrx is starting to grow on me.

I'll never rid myself of the celica though.

The celica was being a jerk and I am suprised the guy even raced him. I would have gotten off the freeway if someone did that to me. I've done it before when some ricers got pissed because I didn't want to race em, they cut me off flipped me off and brake checked me several times, I just stayed one lane over from the exit lane going 40 mph (thats how slow they had me going)

and then waited till the last possible second and cut off the freeway to the off ramp. I watched as one of them tried to follow me and ate dirt! :)

I can relate to the wrx owner. I feel his pain.

I alway thought the GT-S and WRX stock for stock were very similiar from a roll, topend anyway.

when i had my celi... my boy just picked up a 02 REX... i had CAI and exhaust... from a roll, i would pull on him pretty much every time... from a stop of course is a different story

Eh, it doesn't matter. There will always be some fools out there who think their cars are God's gift while other cars are $hit. Every messageboard has 'em, including WRX boards, Celica boards, Honda boards, etc. Just ignore those close-minded idiots and communicate with the peeps that love their cars, yet can still give respect to other cars.

some? man i had mad respect for ur cars.. esp the GSX.. just wen u finished it up with the new setup.. man.. it seems like to get some real respect u need to have an 11sec setup.. 12s seems just too common these days wit DSMs.. ive been hanging out wit john at PSI and he tels me theres no reason my b16g setup shouldnt be able to hit 12s.. which all im hoping for.. but if im going to accomplish that goal rather quickly.. im gonna drop the 16g and move on to bigger better things.. :)

I've pulled on them from a roll as well. I tried my hand once at a light though....wow did I get ripped up, but that was to be expected. I was just hoping for a chump that didn't know how to launch the car right. :)

Maybe I should call that kid out and stomp him on the HW just so that he STFU. I hate when people underestimate the GTS 6-speed......Especialy on the HW

I never got paid for anything, its just a matter of respect.. I respect anyone whose put as much time and money into their car as I have in the past..

Dave and Eugene.. your both soo right and thats half the reason I wanna stay out of DSMs.. 12s is like eh ok, 11s is starting to get impressive but even 11s these days are starting to seem common.. I have too many 10 second friends.

yea.. i never get paid or anything like that.. not even sponsored or looking to be.. its all for fun and that feeling of knowing u can whoop 80% of cars on the street from a stop.. (larry's gsx prob 90% :p:) so it matters a lot to me how fast the car is.. i dont wanna be classified as slow or someone who's just into looks or watever.. its all about respect..

hah i know how it feels now to hang out with DSM owners who are "fast".. 11-10 sec fast.. my goals were only set for 12s.. but wen ur always at PSI and u constantly see John Huh's AWD Spyder.. and then ride in it.. everything else just seems slow..

As long as you are having fun while driving the car you have spent so much time and money on, and as long as you know that through your time and practice and patience whilst learning the limits of your own machine, you really won't need to demand the respect that you speak of-It will just show in your skill and that will be it. Just have fun. The real comparison is in driver skill IMHO.

At least on road courses with corners.

i would like to drive on a road/track course someday.. but DSMs really dont handle all that great.. my car with tokico shock and progress springs. front/rear strut bars.. feel like it barely handles like my stock celica.. lol.. but with more grip (AWD).. there is autox.. but its a lot of just 1-2 shifting.. and can't really utilize the full potential of the car.. and im pretty confident in my driving skillz.. just no money, time, and lazy to bring it out to a road course.. but not until after i get my 12 sec slip :)
