View Full Version : Blah, I want a Celica... (again)

The urge is biting again.

Maybe if LarryD went back to a Celica I wouldn't feel so weird. I am such a car whore. That and now that I see the DAS Turbo kit, man, that thing produces more power than the GReddy kit for my Integra.

I want a car that might have some collectors value to it some time down the road. My Integra would just be so bland, even after a turbo kit and a JDM front end conversion. Hell my Integra still has the stupid "sliding" air conditioner controls and functions even though it was made in 1999. My gauges are boring, the styling has become boring. No one in my town has a decent Celica, just Altezza lights and 18 year olds where mom and dad bought them the "TRD Package".

I want some updated styling, even if it is FWD. My friends are all die hard turbo RWD/AWD fanatics, but I'm coming to a point where speed is secondary to everything. I just want something that looks nice and is up to date.

Blah, sorry, just felt the need to ramble.

No one can resist the urge to lift. Your pretty close to the redesign if you hold out a year longer.......

Well, I actually would want to purchase a GT instead of a GT-S. It never fails the base model of any design (including my Integra LS) is more reliable for boost, if the time comes.

why'd u get rid of ur celica in the first place?

Because all my previous cars were co-signed or not in my name at all. I finally got enough credit up (or rather a good Credit Union) to get a car solely in my name.

To some people thats not much, to me it was. So I picked up the Integra LS 5-Speed (what my debt ratio would allowed).

I actually got pretty lucky. I was $2000 in the whole on the current car, and still managed to pick up the Integra for $11,800 with no money down.

No offense, but you need to learn how to make up your mind, going through car after car just because you have to have someone co-sign on it is ridiculous. Pay the damn thing off and when you do, you can get the co-signer to sign the title off so it is only in your name.

That's why you waste all your money on mods and then you have no cash to think about it

I didn't miss anything, but you have to expect that almost all places are not going to allow you to just get a car in your name. If you don't have a credit history, or you have a bad one, you are going to need someone to co-sign for you nine times out of ten...but still, I don't see why it is a reason to change cars so often. Like I said, you have someone co-sign, you make the payments, and when the title is not the banks anymore because you have it payed off, you can have it put in your name.

You probably would have saved yourself a mound of cash if you had just made up your mind in the first place and gotten an Integra if you have this thing in your mind that a car MUST be in your name alone credit wise...just my .02 though.

Yeah, I was inside my friends Integra GS, it felt so weird. The seats were so high like I was in an SUV and the gauges were all small and low. The interior looks real bland IMO

I was planin on picking one up tomorrow, but I just went and dropped by the dealership and it turns out of that they either took it home for the night or sold it since I talked to the dealer Friday. :( I really hope that he took it home for the night.
