This morning my car took like no time to warm up. So i check the coolant level and yea, they are low. Below the line that say "LOW"
So what kinda of coolant the factory put in? or what kinda of coolant can I buy and refill it with?
thanks in advance
check the back of your owners manual any time you need to check for fluid types or amounts. Pretty much your run of the mill coolant mixed about 50/50 with water will be fine.

just mix in some pink coolant (if yours is pink) and some distilled water, not sure of the mixture, but 50/50 sounds right

the red fluid comes from the dealer. go to the dealer and get the toyota fluid and mix it with distilled water

did you check while the car was running or when it cooled down?
the level goes down once the car is running. mine was way below low for a long time and it never over heated.

I heard that GM's "Dexcool" engine coolant is supposed to be better than most 'OEM' and 'aftermarket' coolants like Prestone. Anyone know anything about it?

Whatever coolant you use make sure it is silicate-free this is a necessity for the Celica. It will say this on the jug.

i'm pretty sure the coolant you get from toyota is already diluted 50/50 with water..

Nope, the directions on mine said I had to dilute it (bought about 1month ago)

Someone posted about weather it was ok to use that green kind awhile back, but got no responces. Let us know how it goes!

well i didn't completely use the whole bottle. It was at low with the both fully warmed up and fully cool, so i just filled it to full...which wasn't that much I added in.

You can simply add some distill water in to avoid the trouble. The mixture of coolant and water in the system shouldnt change much. Or u can call Redline water wetter and use distill water to top it off. I heard that stuff works really well.

Well I can say that I'm never putting Toyota red in my car after seeing the residue it leaves. We stuck some in a friends car and about a month later we opened the rad cap. This light red gunk had built up around the cap and was inside the radiator. I dunno if this is that lubricant I hear about or what in Toyota red but it definately didn't look good. It also didn't seem to cool any better than the generic green stuff at the store. I go Toyota OEM for a lot of things but that coolant is a rip off (isn't it like $10-15 a gallon?) and whatever that gunk was I didn't like the looks of it.
