Drive your pos into a tree. You can do a burnout then. Only way it would work. Guarantee.
Also don't forget to roll down your window and scream: "Vtech just kicked in yo".

1. Put oil on your tires
2. Get up to 100 mph
3. Slam on the brakes
4. Die.

Not with a stock auto GTS man....I know its been forever and you probably can't remember...but there is nothing but bog when you do this. Rev up, bog, pick back up, go. Better off just mashing the pedal. Hell, even my old auto corolla could get off the line faster than this auto GTS.

you sir are full of shiat. in no way will an automatic gt-s pull against those cars on a roll. like others have said you will not burnout with it as its an automatic with low torq. heres an idea. check your blinker fluid to see if its low the next time you want to do a burnout

The very first person that replied to your thread gave you an intelligent, though a bit sarcastic, answer. Most of the rest didn't bother because you clearly show that you have no understanding of how cars work. Since you cry for intelligent answers, here's one for you:
You cannot do a burnout in an automatic Celica because:
1. You have no torque down low.
2. Your torque converter stalls at 2500 rpm.
3. It's a FWD car so you can't hold your brakes and spin wheels like in a RWD car.
4. You can't neutral bomb it because Toyota is smart enough to protect the transmission against idiots who try that.
5. Doing a burnout on street tires works the opposite as with drag slicks. It will not give more grip.
6. It's an automatic Celica GT-S, your times will not improve because you are not breaking traction to begin with.
|
...on the 1/8 mile i did the best time 11.100 (rev up in neutral and drop)
have you ever run against a gts auto????? or have you ever seen one??
well anyways thanks for the answer

You should stop where your at now.. I have personally owned both a 2000 GTS Auto and I now own a 2003 GTS 6sp and the auto is much slower than the 6sp. I've taken both GTS to a 1/4 track and the auto ran a 17.2, and the 6sp ran a low 15s since I was still getting use to it...
Also if you can't atleast get the tires to make noise when you N bomb it then YOUR the problem, not the car..

Dude, our celicas do not have torque therefore they will not be able to do a burnout. I own the exact same kind of celica like you. If you continue to try and burn out you are going to burn out your transmission

Why do you want to burnout in the first place? What will this accomplish?

Yeah true, no one likes the tuna around here.
But do you remember that old railroad track we used to race at in high school? It was exactly a quarter mile.

I know right? It was because of his fuel, it had a nasty hull. That's why he unloaded in third. Should've also tuned the NOS timer, that way he could've been running 9s.

Dude, just stop. If that Audi A4 2.8L was an automatic it's just as slow as your GT-S auto so no surprises there if you beat it. The same is the case for the Nissan 240SX. We are talking about a mid 16 second car on a good day. None of the cars you raced are fast.

1.Yes, it wasn't even funny. I can express it in bus lengths, that way the numbers will be lower and won't look as bad for you.
2.Yes, I've seen at least 4 of them up close and personal. Was even going to buy one so I could get the engine out and sell the rest for parts.
3. You're welcome.
I am the moderator in charge of the newbies that join the site. I am usually very understanding and patient by nature, but you sir are putting yourself to the ridicule of the site and there is only so much I am willing to do this time, because instead of toning down your attitude when you are being schooled you actually become more defiant.
Ya es hora de que entiendas que un Celica GT-S automatico no es nada rapido. La gente se cansa del disco rayado.

Seems like this thread should probably be closed, but on a lighter note the celica isn't car I'd take to the drag strip anyway.
My 1ZZ celica w/ a 5 speed pulls much harder than an auto GTS i drove. It didn't with the old engine though (man that old engine must have really been losing compression with those rings). Hell, I even pulled on a cobalt SS (i'm guessing the naturally aspirated version, though).
IMO the celica 1zz/2zz are one of the best daily drivers around. It gets great gas milage and it's fun to drive.
OP, Most people are hating because you're racing an auto transmission that is designed for granny-type usage. It's not like a B&M or a coan race transmission, it's about the same one they put in a base model corolla.
If you want to race the bottom line is get a different car. The celica, even though an auto (which I wouldn't tolerate), is a good daily driver but not much more. If you had the C60 trans, however, your racing capabilities would greatly increase.

heres a suggestion for the op. remove every interior piece from the car, buy some bolt on parts to gain horsepower. you do know what bolt ons are dont you????? then after that pull out your ricer calculator and add how much hp you just gained and then maybe just maybe youll be able to launch and "burnouted"
oh i also herd from a yellow birdie that if you time it right when you rev the motor to 6200rpms then drop it to drive youll launch in "LIFT" you do know what "LIFT" is right since you own a gt-s? but then again you prolly never hit "lift" with the automatic.

Doing a burn out will NOT improve your 1/8 mile time. You have no idea what you are doing.
BECAUSE AN AUTO GTS DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO BREAK LOOSE WHILE BREAKS ARE ON. I could barely do it a Manual.

Those cars have more power. Were they manual? Also, if they were auto, short of the Z3, you're probably lying.
I hate people who ask a question then do not like the answer. How can you argue an answer when you don't even know the answer?

have you ever run against a gts auto????? or have you ever seen one??
well anyways thanks for the answer

An Auto GTS is SIGNIFICANTLY slower than a manual. It is not quick, at all, period. No matter what you THINK, FACTS are FACTS. You should not be ashamed of us, we are ALL ashamed of you. You're the reason the GTS has such a shitty reputation.
We have been on this site for 13+ years. We answered your question, so because it wasn't what you WANTED to hear it is false? Would you rather us lie to you?
Again, what is your deal?

Post the videos here. I know we're all dying to watch them.

And because you can't do a burnout in your Crapica is our problem...why?
Buy another car. One that's not FWD nor automatic, and has some torque.

I can't speak for the entire NC.org community, but I've personally never seen an automatic Celica GT-S. They must be rare and exotic!

If your friend is half as much of an arrogant asshole as you are, then we don't want him here anyways. So please, tell him how we all mistreated you after you came on here talking shit. We. Don't. Care.
