00 Celica - no knocking yet, but yellow pieces in the oil

So after the whole rod going in my 00 celica and having it swapped with a 05 motor, my celica is running good.

My mother shortly after i got my celica fixed bought a 00 celica. It runs well, no knocking and the dipstick always showed that the engine had oil.

Well today after draining her celicas oil I noticed pieces of yellow. From what i recall thats the rod bearings starting to die.

I may be way off here as i am no real mechanic but I did see it in mine before it blew up.

So I guess the big issue here is, what do i do. Does the motor have to be replaced? Can the rod bearings be changed out? To make this worse, she hasnt even really driven the car, we bought it over the winter and it needed some body work/new headlamps/o2 sensors so aside from driving it home its never really been used...

120k miles ish. 1 owner and it always had full synthetic used in it. When i did drain it today i only took out about 1 3/4 quarts of oil...

Oil consumption is very common with the 2000 and 2001 GT.. I would take it to a shop and see what they say, but it does sound like it could very well be internal issues.

Yeah i hear ya. Sounds like there could be metal shavings in there and lets hope it doesnt lead to rod knock

Well after getting pissed I went back outside to have another look at the oil pan. This time I grabbed a magnet to pull the pieces out of the oil (I wanted a good look)

But the magnet would pick up the pieces...

pondering for a moment a tiny pinecone blew into the oil and on contact broke into a million little pieces... that with oil on it looked yellow and metallic.

So i dont have metal in my oil, I have pincone shit.
