T1809

I'm interested in purchasing the scion t1809 head unit, but can't find any info on the install. Seems like its direct plug and play for the GT model, but I have a '04 GT-S with the premium sound system. Does anyone have information on what needs to be done to work properly?

You'll have to bypass the factory harness and amp. Easiest way is to get the plug that fits the back of the deck, and connect the plug wires to the speaker wires after the amp. I would recommend replacing the front speakers, since you won't have a crossover anymore

'04 is a straight amp bypass.... just get the amp bypass harness. You won't need to replace the fronts.

It sounds like the 70-8116 should work as well. The description also states that it's for select 00-06 Toyotas.
The 70-8118 seems to only list 00-03 celicas.
Am I wrong?

Grrr.... yeah the 70-8118 has been discontinued
The 70-8116 is now the correct part and includes the power connector as well.

Thanks. I have updated the FAQ to reflect the change.
