water pump problem?

I brought my Celi last Friday to the dyno to be tuned with my Rotrex. Now the tuner said, the temps on the engine go very quick very high, it seems the water pump doesn't do its job right.

Before I did the SC conversion I had a marten defect, this animal did bite through one of the two main cooling hose and the water run out exactly at this spot. Hence the temps went up very quick and I stopped the car immediately. After we fixed this issue at the garage we run the engine to see if the problem was solved, and we bleeded off several times the cooling circuit because temps raised up again. After a while, after we bleeded off one more time the cooling circuit, temps were fine and stayed at a consistent level. I was driving home, all ok... I did drive around with the car for some weeks and sometimes temps raised again to high. I always did let it cool down, did bleed off the system and filled water to the correct level. Then if I was lucky after a while temps where again fine...

Also we did change to a TRD Thermostat before bringing it to the dyno, just to mention. At the dyno he did bleed off the system many times with out success.

Is this the water pump indeed?

Well you just said you installed the trd thermostat and couldn't bleed it, so I think you need to do that first. Seems obvious to me, or maybe I read that wrong?

to bleed off the cooling circuit was never a problem... also after the install of the TRD Thermostat... could it be the Thermostat? Is it a known problem, the water pump fails?

If you're still getting bubbles coming out while bleeding you've still got air in the system. It's likely that you were just getting air locks if that's the case.

I remember this issue also occured after the install of the MWR water pulley which is lighter and bigger, so that the waterpump pumps slower... could this produce troubles with the cooling system?

I would think that the TRD thermostat would offset the reduced speed of the pump for all but high RPM.

Sounds like you're getting air blocks from the thermostat install & need to follow the Boosted2.0 bleeding procedure.

Shouldn't have done the thermostat so close to the date.
