its all speculation, have you checked your oil? it could be a valve or bearing. usually bent valves just give you low compression and the engine runs bad. pull the oil pan and check the rod caps, that will tell you if its a bearing. or first just drain the oil through a strainer and see if its full of metal pieces
99% of the time a spun bearing you will hear all the time, not just after 3000 RPM.
