belt tensioner covered by powertrain??

Is the friggin belt tensioner that speaks to no end is it covered by the 60000 powertrain warranty? its part of the drivetrain so it should be... anyone know anything about this!! i need help!

I'm trying to figure this out too, but i don't think so. Unless someone has had it worked on throught he powertrain.

Nope, powertrain is engine and transmission internals/casing only. It's only covered by the 3yr/36k bumper-to-bumper warranty, and I think only 1yr/12k after its replacement.

it's not covered under warranty. dealer charge around 500 for that little s**t.. mine broken cos I revved the engine up to 8400.. and then I was kinda taking my time to shift to next gear.. then on the way back home, I heard this noise from around the belt..

Highly doubt it was from that. These die on all Celicas, Corollas, Matrixes, and probably MR2s, with either 1ZZ or 2ZZ, and even the autos.
