Question about will internals be affected?
Im thinking about doing a custom turbo setup. My just make a manifold for his cav and I asked if he would make me one for my car. If I leave the stock internals in with the 11.5:1 compression ratio will it hold? What trim turbo could I put on? And with the vvtl-i will the computer have to be adjusted with the lift point at 6,500?

Boost is Good
You can run boost with stock compression, but you will need to retard ignition timing at some points to keep from knocking with such a high compression ratio. Personally, I don't know of any aftermarket computers that control VVTL-i, so changing your lift point might not be possible (if there is one, I'd be interested to know, VTEC controller definitely won't work), so you might have to settle for a piggyback.
The turbo you want depends on whether you are interested in torque or peak horse power. A 50 trim works nice for torque and the super 60 will give you the peak horse power.
Also, you might want to add a performance clutch to your upcoming mods. I learned the hard way that boost will fry your stock clutch in less than a week.

The apex-i power FC(PFC) is a standalone system and it is capable of changing the "lift" pont. Changing the timing is not necessary for low boost levels though.

Power FC also controls timing.

We're kinda trying to solve an equation with two variables without telling us how much boost you are going to use.
If you up boost, you are either going to need a really good tuner or you are going to have to lower compression. For 6 or 7 psi, stock compression ratio should be okay... if you have a decent tune.

Greddy E-Manage I beleive works too but the ignition harness is gonna run you about $41-$65. I think Moneky Wrench Racing has it for about $41 shipped.

I looked at the Power FC before, but the application chart doesn't mention Toyotas and the description doesn't mention anything other than VTEC. You're not just dealing with lift point either. The engine requires a pulsewidth modulated signal to control intake cam timing (VVT-i) and switched signal to control the lift point between low and high RPM cams (the L in VVTL-i). If they've come out with a stand alone for VVTL-i since updating their website, that would be awsome...a friend of mine with a GT-S is fiending to replace the stock ECU.
BTW, a quick search found some valve timing maps for the PFC...this could be a good sign.

you really need to do some research...i have had a power FC running my Turboed celica for oveer a year...i know several members that run Power FC on their N/A celicas...yes the PFC can control Lift...yes it can control VVT...yes it can control timing...

I totally believe you...I was just saying what my research showed on the apex-i website...guess they need to update their application page.

Me and my friend are building a custom setup thats gonna run 7-8 boost. Toyota just put in a motor that has a warranty for 12,000 miles . Im just worried about the lift and the turbo spooling will it cause the car to buck real bad when its the turbo spools and then when the vvtl-i kisks on? I just dont want the motor to break down thats all and i was hoping you guys could help me out. Would it be fine to leave the lift point at where it is with the turbo?

you dont have to worry about that at all..in fact...the lift changeover is less noticible with turbo...look at my dyno in my sig...you can see that the HP line just climbs, there is no jump like N/A
