NEONS- Wheel Well

I was at In-n-out the other day, in california, and a raised truck with real nice 18" chrome rims came in, with blue neons coming out from his wheels. I was amazed at how tight it looked, and was wondering if anyone has seen them on a celica (chrome rims like i have, or not), and if you all think they'd look tight. Anyone know where or what kind of lights i should get if i want to install them. Thanks a lot.

Do you have them on your car, do you think they'd look cool? Please post any pictures on a celica of glow kits.

I'm not sure if thats what he meant but how to you install neons behind your rims. You know because the wire would get ripped out when the wheel turns. I've seen this on a truck before.....

I think as he said, you put it in the wheel well, and it comes out thru the rims (you set it back), but im not positive, thats why i made this post. I was hoping for some pictures that someone has, the sites are so misleading.

I've never seen any car with the neons in the wheels...but I have heard of it. I'm not really sure how you'd install that.

Personally, I have neons all over the place on my car and neons only look good if you have a lot of them. If you just have one thing, it looks out of place.

If you get those neons in the wheels, you should get a low glow kit as well

This truck had just neons in the wheel, i know a truck that is raised with 19" or something is a lot different than a lowered celica, but still it looked tight.

I don't know, it seems like if there were neons inside the wheel wells, they would be very vulnerable to breaking from rocks and things that get kicked up in there. The truck guy could probably get away with it because it was lifted really high, because the stones and debries wouldn't get thrown around in there, but on a Celica, I think that the neons would be prone to break a lot.

I saw a truck in Maimi with red neons behind the rims. They were circular and looked like they might have outligned his rotors. It was really sweet looking.

If I can find them, I'll put them in my car and post some pictures...I gotta take the time to disable my headlights at night and take some pics of my car right now...I have a lot of neons all over. I'll try to post in the next couple of days.

And from what I understand, the install on the circular neons is very, very tough...think about it, you gotta run the wire in a way that it doesn't twist or even touch anything when the wheel spins.

As for breaking from rocks, it wouldn't be a big problem since if rocks had that big of an affect, people wouldn't have undercar kits on their cars.

Some people here in Tampa bay came up with a cool mod similar to what you are talking about... you take H3 fog lite bulbs wire them into your wheel wells. Bolt them to your strut right above your brake rotor. Run a switch into your interior. Make sure the whole thing is on a BIG fuse. Makes your whole wheel wells light up BRIGHT white, looks amazing! Your car will look like it is riding on light and it looks especially good on chrome wheels. You will look like a UFO riding down the road, turns lots of heads. I have them on my car but the back 2 are burnt out. Bad thing is if you get water on the H3 bulbs while it's hot they will pop and it is a big pain in the ass to replace the bulbs. You gotta take your wheel off etc. If I had a dig cam I would post pics.

I went to an autoshow a couple of months ago and they had these circular neon lights in behind the rims that you speak of. Just as you said it was a big circular tube that fit inside of the rim. They had them turned on and they looked pretty pimp. I did not look up close to see how they were wired though.
