"NEW DRIVING LAWS AND FINES"

#1 Carpool Lane - 1st time $1,068.50 starting 07/01/2007
(The $271 posted on the highway is old)
Dont do it again because 2nd time is going to double, 3rd time triple and 4th time will get your license suspended.

#2 Incorrect lane change - $380. Dont cross the lane on solid lines or intersections.

#3 Blocked Intersection - $485

#4 Driving on the shoulder - $450

#5 Cell phone use in the construction zone - As of 07/01/2007

#6 Passengers over 18 not in their seatbelts - BOTH passengers and drivers get tickets.

#7 Speeders can only drive 3 miles ABOVE the limit.
(No more 10% of posted speed limit grace)

#8 DUI = JAIL (Stays on your driving record for 10 years!)

Geez, I thought I had it pretty bad. If I had a DUI or unsafe driving point on my record, I might as well tattoo my ass with (insert name of insurance company here).

I don't speed anymore, so I don't have to worry about that list, although sometimes #3 creeps up on me when I least expect it. I swear, the light time intervals change everyday.

That's true but cops have always given a 5 mph buffer in case your speedometer is slightly off.

-WARNING-

The COPS in the bay area is getting really strict on speeding in and around the city. If you get caught speeding, a POLICE Officer will give you Tickets to the Oakland RAIDERS game. If you get caught speeding again. They will force you to watch their games cause they suck. BEWARE!!!!

To Kevin!

Thank you for scaring the crap out of me in front of my friends by pulling up in your HighWay patrol car. I'll never forget that "Oh Shiit" feeling when you pulled up, rolled your windows down and said..."Joey?...Are you Joey?" OMG I was hella trippin and wondered what I did wrong. Anyways, it was nice seeing you again bro and I wish you the best. Be safe out there and it's cool to know that you still own a CELICA.

To you and your fellow Officers that are not as$holes! Thank you guys for doing your best to make our streets much safer.

good source of info for my case. i have to go to state referee this friday for "modified emissions." the cops reason for pulling me over was "you weren't speeding or violating traffic laws, but people have complained about your car and driving." this is AFTER he pulls me over and the first thing he does is ask a bunch of questions about my exhaust and what other car parts i have modified. its funny considering he's telling me people told him in a town i do not live in, and they been copmplaining for months and he says "i just happen to see your car and thats why i just now pulled you over was to tell you this."

i just moved back to this area so there is now way...its bull. after i pass emmisions and decibles for the exhaust (which i know for fact i will pass), i will get my certificate and tell the judge what happend, and show him my car is legal. i hope he drops it.

the officer put this is 'unfixable' and 27156 b vc code.

i can't drive my car until i pass emisions....its been a week already

even a retired officer told me he thought something was fishy about the way that cop handled it.
