I think I hydrolocked my car - Symptoms - HELP!!!

We're having a torrential downpour in the tri-state area and i think i might have hydrolocked my car. I was driving at a very low rate of speed but there was flooding on the streets and as i reduced my speed even more my car suddenly died. I thought right away it was hydrolocked but restarted it and it started. I immediately pulled to a sidestreet but that street had even higher waters and the rain was beating down heavily. My car immediately died again. I ended up pushing it to the side and walked home. First thing I did when I got home was to read the hydrolock threads and I think I did just that. Now all my car did was die, there was no smoke or anything. I just went back to the car and took out my AEM intake filter, unscrewed the pipe and water came out of the intake pipe. I tried put it back together tried to start it and it just does one click sound and doesnt start. My other components [a/c, radio, and alarm work].

Can you advise me as to the cheapest way to solve this problem? Is my motor done for good?...if the symptoms appear that the motor is done, I;ve been thinkin about going turbo or s/c, what should I do in a rebuild.

Thanks

Never resart a suspected hydrolocked motor without removing all the plugs first. The damage might have been minimal up until that point.

It likely will not turn over because either something is bent or its still hydrolocked. Pull the plugs out & get the engine turning over. Test the compression of each cylinder & have a mechanic check the height of each piston at TDC to see if you have any bent rods.

The cheapest solution is likely going to be a used motor. But if its not too damaged, you might be able to rebuild it.

i've hydrolocked my old integra (well, my dad did anyway...), and the mechanic said the same thing; never start a hydrolocked car. by doing so you're drawing water into the chambers and the repair costs after that will be ridiculous.

Remove the spark plugs, turn the engine over with the starter.

Run some seafoam and change your oil (In that order) after you do all that^. The car should run, I had this problem at a car wash and everything seemed to work out after I ran the sea foam, although I didn't try to start my car until after I followed these steps. Also, make sure the MAFS is dry.

That's exactly what hydrolock does. Air compresses, water does not, so as you turn it over, it sucks water that is still in your intake manifold into the cylinder & when the piston comes up to compress it, it stops dead. This usually bends rods, crushes bearings & sometimes bends the crankshaft. Very dangerous stuff.
