Gas Tank HELP!

HELP!

For quite some time now, whenever I go to fill up my tank with gas, the nozzle on the gas pump "clicks" as if my tank is full, even though my tank is empty! I then have to slooooooowly fill my tank by applying very little pressure to the pump which takes forever.

Anyone know what it could be? How do I go about fixing it? Thanks.

It's possible that there may be something obstructing the fill pipe on the tank.

What nozzle? The nozzle on the gas pump? I've tried pulling it out, putting it back in, tilting it from all angles, etc.

there should be the hole for the pump nozzle and a 1/2 inch hole to the right i think. is there anything blocking that 1/2 hole? that 1/2 inch hole is where all the pressure inside the tank is released while it's pumping. so if the pump nozzle feels like there is alot of pressure it will stop pumping (just like it would if the tank was full).

Mine does that sometimes. I haven't found a fix for it yet. I dealt with it for a few weeks and it went away. I haven't had the problem now for probably about three months. My advice would be to make sure you don't over fill the tank and maybe even try snaking a long tube down the filler neck to make sure there are no obstructions. hopefully if it is like my issue it will go away on it's own
