Backseat gets soaked in rain!
When it rains, by backseat becomes flooded with water -- I'm guessing there are some water ducts somewhere that should move water away from the interior but they must be clogged...
Anyone know exactly where those runnoff ducts are located so I can take care of this
If not that, any ideas what else might cause this to happen?
Many thanks!

I had the same problem. There are two drain plugs under the back seat, so i unplugged them and now everythings seems to be fine- at least the water doesnt accumulate.
There are couple threads about this topic, use "search" option for more info.
hope that helps!

Yes -- thanks! Pulling those plugs is a great idea.
I did read over the other threads, but they mostly point to the moonroof, and the leak doesn't seem to be coming from there.
It seems to be coming from somewhere near the side window, but I can't seem to figure out where exactly. I was hoping someone could give me more specific info on the exact location of the ducts.

back when i had the gt, whenever it rained my seats would get wet too. so i pull the plastics from where the speakers are at, and where was like water in there. unforunatly i traded the car in before i solved the problem. so maybe try pulling the plastics from around the rear speakers to see if water is there or not.

see if you have debris built up along the sides where your hatch shocks sit in. That's where most of the water usually runs out from.

^^ mine did it after i put on the seiban hatch. it was not sitting far enough and was letting water in. It was dripping right from the edge of the headliner to the middle of the rear seats. I had them out so i just pulled the drain plugs till it was fixed. though i currently have all of the drain plugs form backseat and trunk pulled now just incase the hatch leaks again

Check your weather seal around the hatch? I know I had to re-glue some of mine when I got the car as they were loose and leaking.

This isn't OT, don't be a prick.
Rog, Dan, and TRafD thanks for the hatch idea -- that makes a lot of sense, and it's not something I would have thought of. I'll check that out.

I remember there was someone on here last year that had leakage from the 1/4 window seals too, might want to remove the panels indeed and hose the 1/4 windows to make sure water isn't leaking from there too.

yup I had that problem a few months ago and it was the quarter window seals. Take of the plastic panels and have a friend spray the car with a hose. thats the best way to figurte out where it is coming from. It's probably your quarter window seals unless your headliner is wet as well. get some silicone sealer and run a thin bead across the quarter window and that should fix the problem

Just checked the hatch -- that's not it.
Also inspected the the back pastics -- there appears to be water stains on the speaker covers... so it's leaking down from somewhere over there...
I'll try the hose trick and see if I can locate it -- thanks guys

LOL......I had/have the same problem. My case was water was collecting in the back where the spare tire is and the water that didnt collect in there went through the metal piece that covers the rear suspension into t he back seats.
I think I got it now. Turns out that the dumass that put my rear bumper back on after repainting it didnt put all the screws back in and when the water ran off the hatch bouncing off the tail light right into that screw hole and into my trunk/ back seats. I didnt notice any water through the speakers side. (I think)

This happened to a friend of mine a while back.
Turned out to coming from the hatch area near the bootlid. Eventually it works it's way accross the metal boot floor and piles up in the rear seat area..try it with a jug of water if you can be bothered!!! It's madness I tell ya!!

jlitman, you figure your leak out yet? I have a similar problem, my back seats (passenger only most of the time) would get wet. I pulled all the rear panels and the roof linner. There are four hoses running from the moon roof to drain water. I thought maybe one had a crack but this is not the case.
I sprayed the car with a hose and the water is coming in from above the rear quarter window between two panels spotted together (slow drip). My best guess from here is the rear hatch seal.
I am curious if you have the same leak or is yours coming from somewhere else? Has anybody had a leak in this area. I'm sick of my car interior being ripped apart, but I refuse to let my car rust from the inside out! So untill I can properly fix this problem it will stay this way for now.

I have my back hatch stripped completely, all panels. There is this flap above the drivers rear side. Any one know what this is used for?
