Annoying Rattle!!!

it just started happening the other day. when im not in gear my car doesnt rattle but when it IS in gear it does. when i hit 3k my car starts to rattle until i pass 4k then again when i hit 5k and rattle on til 7k. but only if i put little pressure on the gas. if i floor the gas from 2k up, the rattle doesnt come up. wth? has anyone else had this problem? my CEL is not on. all fluids are topped off. and everything looks fine. dammit...maybe a screw is loose? idk but i sure would liek to know.

could be belt tensioner or could be a heat shield - you done anything to it recently - right before the rattle started?

im sure the rattle is coming from in or around the engine. i haven't done any mods in the past few months. just exterior mods and the most recent mod was the HID conversion. oil was a lil low but i fixed that. its soo weird that the car doesn't throw a CEL light and the engine bay looks normal :/ dammit. its going in the shop later today. hopefully they find whats wrong...

ok so i wasnt able to make it to the shop today but after some more observation, im sure its comming from either inside around the intake manifold or under the engine. could it be that my mounts are loose?

so i found this while doing some research:

"If your car is making a rattling sound along with ticks or slaps, you should see if it's coming from the front of the engine. It might help to buy a cheap stethoscope to aid the listening process. It can really help! Listen also for the sound to rise and fall with the engine RPMs.

If the rattling ticking slapping sound is coming from the very front of your engine (or the side that has the belts on it) and gets louder or faster when you rev the engine, chances are you have a loose timing chain. Not all cars have a timing chain, but lots of them do. If you catch a loose timing chain early, you can fix it before things get ugly. A broken timing chain can lead to serious engine damage, so if you suspect your timing chain is going bad, don't hesitate to get it looked at."

boosted, you know where i can a good timing chain for a 2000 GT and part number? casue what i read explains the rattle perfectly. the mechanic must've screwed up when they gave me that tune up awhile ago.

well it starts off low and then gets higher and louder as the rpms rises. and sometimes it sounds like metal hitting metal. like you took a crowbar and hit something metal with it. that *bink* sound HAHAHA but only sometimes. mostly rattle. imm atake a video of it when i get home today after work hopefully if its not to dark.
