How much power are you planning on making? You may not need the rods, powder coated IM. Also why not the MWR stg 3 cams instead.

almost all the parts listed could fit a 1zz or 2zz, and like evilthorne said
what power? what size turbo? how much boost are going to be using?
answer that and we can help out more

well this is for a 2000 gts manual..
I have the turbokits.com kit so the custom spec t28 turbo
i was wanting to make the celica safe to drive and on top of living in a higher altitude the engine has to work harder so why not do a baby build. i was wanting around 300hp but 250 makes me happy also. just want to run with the big boys. people just say its safer to have some internals done so i listed what i thought was safe but hell thats basically a build lol

the items listed could handle 300+whp no problem.
the only problem is your turbo, you are going to need a GT28RS or GT2871R to see 275+
also to fully take advantage of the turbo you are going to need MWR FPR and return system to see more than 16psi

What is the general concenus for what the stock rods can handle. Im in the same boat as crystalalien and want to do a mild build(same turbo set up as him but will probably upgrade to gt28 etc later) What would be a decent build for 300whp?
Not trying to jack your thread crystalalien I just have many of the same ?s

To be safe you really dont need any of that stuff as long you keep the power down. To be on the safer side I would rebuild the bottom end with some mahle pistons(CR is up to you, I would go with 10.5:1 but 9.0:1 is easier to tune), mwr arp stud kits(head studs, main studs, exhuast, fly wheel and rod bolts), and new gaskets. You would might need new bearing and have your crank polished but thats about it. The rest of that stuff is just extra.

I don't think there has been a engine failure due to the rods breaking and making holes on the block, like a lot of Honda's do.
Im going to be making 350+ and i didn't bother going with after market rods.

^^^Ok because I wasnt planning on going with aftermarket rods. My list right now is
Darton sleeves(or Mahle Drop ins if block is in spec)
Wiseco Pistons 9:1
MWR Rod Bearings
MWR Main Bearings
ARP Head stud kit
MWR 255 Fuel pump
Circuit works oil pump gear
and OEM gasket set
That should be suffiecient to make out the little t28 turbo.

How do you go about breaking in a rebuilt engine that is already turboed.

Rape the hell out of it, lol I'm not getting the question, are you asking how to break in a engine that came with turbo from the factory?

LOL. I read that realistically its best to break in a rebuilt engine, at least on the celica, in its naturally aspirated form.
I cant return my car to stock am I fine to break it in as is. Should I just stay out of boost? What is the proper breakin procedure for a newly rebuilt engine.
