Intercooler pipping question

I know you have to run 3" pipping from the throttle body to the intercooler .

But how are you guys running 3" intercooler pipping on after the intercooler to the turbo . Are you routing it differently then the tk kit .

Basically I bought a c2 gas manifold and downpipe and I have a buddy who will tig weld me custom made aluminum pipping.

My buddy has a the tk.com kit and I know his passenger intercooler pipping is no where close and thats a tight fit under the hood.

dunno the need for the 3inch charge piping either...Cars making north of 600 whp on 2.5inch piping. All the bigger piping will do is contribute to more lag

That is entirely depending on if you are using a PFC

^ True, but most people use pfc's in their set ups. Its why when you search for piping sized questions you get 90% answers saying use 3" piping on the cold side.

I was just posting it up because this is probably where the OP got the idea that 3" is best.

piping can be whatever size you want it to be. just remember flow characteristics. 10psi though 1" pipe is not the same volume as 10psi though 3" pipe. the stock MAF is tuned for a 2 3/4 intake pipe. the big dogs like myself use a larger pipe and STi MAF to get the most out of the 0-5V of the sensor.
