ok... i've take out the bottom heat shield and unbolted everything except the headers ... i seem to have trouble finding the right tool to reach the bolts... just wondering those you guys that installed the headers urself... what tools did u guys used to reach this ??... also i tried unbolting one of the sensors on the exhaust pipe and it seems to tighten up when i try to loosen it ... i got one of them off but the other one closest to the headers seems to be stuck... is there a special way to get this out... pls help me out... im going to the tracks tomorrow... need my car!!! thank you
I used a 24" breaker bar from the top of the engine to get the top bolts off the header and normal open head wrenches to get off the bottom ones. You can slip another wrench over the end of the first wrench to give yourself a better torque advantage. It's a tight squeeze but you can fit your hands up in there to get to the bolts. As far as removing the o2 sensors, as you unscrew them the wire twists and wants to return to its original position. Just keep twisting and they come off. I pretwisted them before putting them back on so the wire was straight again once tightened. Breaking them was a little tough since the exhaust moves a little on the hangers but if you just hold the pipe and put a little elbow in it they'll break loose pretty easy. Hope that helps.
