Finally kinda raced the b*tch with the GS-T!

We actually raced on the highway, going from 60-120.... Here's the deal...I had two guy passengers, all of us about 170lbs each and 3/4ths tank of gas.Only mod AEM CAI She had 1 other girl passenger which both way about like 120.. Not sure on gas..Stock... Anyway, 60-80, she pulls like quarter a car, then I come back at 100 - 120 and pull completely even. We were going to downtown Orlando. I wanted to race from a dead stop, but she wanted to on Rosalyn, which is not the best place in the world to race. Tons of cops... So untill next time, so far so good...I havent talked to her, yet. I am sure she will talk sh!t, and not understand the extra approx. 250 lbs I had in my car... I will keep you guys posted, especially when I talk to her

The same party where I got the "open house party" b.s... I had her and her sister and there friends with just thongs on... You are probably going to call b.s... But its not.... But I actually like their friends. She did pull on me though 60 -100 even when I was in VVTLI

why would i call bs, I've had **** like that happen to me at house parties its the guys who can't get pune that'll call bs.

Yeah its a five speed. Kinda ricey also. I dont because most people on here are probably nerds, so I figured everyone and their mother would call B.S.. At the same time it sucked, I wasnt able to hook up with the girl I like, or any of them. Kinda dissappointing after seeing hot chicks in just thongs, and not gettting any.

Cool, should throw some wagers down on your next race.

btw lose the two dudes next time. Not only do they interfer with the poontang, but they also hinder your performace. Sounds like if you had dropped the two dudes you woulda had her by at least a car. Cant tell for sure though.

just an FYI.. if that car was able to hold u off from 60-100.. then your not gonna have much more luck with her from 0-60.. the Eclipse has gobs of torque that make 1st and 2nd in that car extremely hard pull gears.. I usually loose steem in 3rd and thats where my GTS buddys would ahve passed me..

I dunno Larry, They have torque but they are hard to launch. I'd give that stock for stock, a Celica coulda easily pull one car off the launch on a GST. Racing my brother from a 40 punch dropping some RPMs into second I pulled on him like a banshee. Had time to wave good bye too

Driver could play a role in it too :p.

but at the same time the GTS isnt exactly a piece of cake to launch.. Im just saying in the 2 years I had the Celica the best 60ft I ever got was a 2.28 with drag radials.. hell the best run to date the 14.105 only had a 2.2x.. Ive heard of GSTs with drag radials pulling 1.8 60fts..

just saying.. I raced a GTS the other day and we were close through 1st gear cuz of my wheel spin, but once I put it into 2nd, I took off on them..

But wouldnt the turbo lag off the start some??? Also, this girl most likely cannot launch at all.. Its not too hard on a highway to shift at redline..

hell no.. not mine anyhow.. if I rev a little off the line while holding the clutch the car will launhc in boost which is acutally a VERY BAD thing becuz of wheel hop.. but the car gets to its power band VERY FAST.. problem is even though I can run it to 7500..it stops making power at about 6800 or so..

Let me just say that turbo lag from a dead stop is highly over-rated...

If you have owned a turbo car... your likely to think "what lag" unless you are launching on something in the 60-1 size. In that case your likely running a two step so your back to the "what lag" bit again.

The only time lag really seems to make any difference is from a slow roll, but even then, if i am in a low enough gear, i can get into the power very quickly.

I can roll out of a stop, and punch it around 5-10mph and the car just pulls as if God kicked it in the rear.

From a dead stop its even better because there is NO hesitation. The tires (all 4) just go up in smoke and away i go.

your car stops making power. or i should say the cams stop making power at, or around 6k rpms.
i suggest shifting at 5900 or 6300 with a 16g

there is no point in running to redline without cams

even with a larger turbo?? cuz i thought youd make power up to redline with a larger turbo like the T28 or big 16g??

a guy in my crew owns a AUTO GST with an upgraged turbo, i think a T28... he SMOKES me off the line, and he has an AUTO... he also has a long list of engine mods...

he's trapping 115 in the 1/4...

i think that's the problem...
