sqeaky!!! ARGH
How come in the morning when I start my car (01 gts), the belt sqeaks for a second or two right after I start it??? It never sqeaks any other time. Can anyone help me on this? Does anyone else have this problem. It seems to be getting worse.
Please help, its really embarrasing.

i have the same problem. it is only on the first start of the day. no other squeaks later. i have a 01 gts too. could there be a problem other than the belt tensioner?

your cars are too new to need new tensioners, etc...thats perfectly normal, happens to me as it gets colder

it needs a new belt tensioner... check the TSB forum on the TSB on the new belt tensioner!

Ive been noticing a squeak coming from my engine too lately, I have an 02 GT, Im not too happy that my 02 car squeaks at idle all the time. Think its cold weather? or should I get my belt tensioner replaced?

defective belt tensioner causes the belt to glaze and squeak toyota replaced my belt and tensioner for free
