Blitz Supercharger Installed!

Well I went to Arizona this past weekend to have Trial install the supercharger, Trial Header, and Trial exhaust on my car. A total of 3 celicas had them installed and tuned by Trial this past week. My first impressions of the sc kit while driving around arizona was that it wasn't putting out that much power and that lift is barely noticeable at all...but then again every day that I was in Arizona it was around 105-109 degrees..so it's 7:06am over here in Cali and I got back at around 4am and can't sleep cuz I'm so stoked about how well the Supercharger peformed in the canyons away from the desert...and I was even more impressed when I got out of the canyons and was driving around the freeways in San Diego! I swear there was at least a 10-15 hp difference...I'm not sure how to calculate the effects of temperature differences and elevation but it was damn noticeable. Dynos will be coming in two weeks, and if all goes well gnes100 and I will be going to Qualcom this friday and run at 1/8th mile. Oh yah, as far as reliablity, Gnes100 and I drove home averaging about 80-85 mph, and hitting 120 a few times, and Gnes100 even hit 147mph in 6th gear I think, and since the road was quite emty at 2:00am, we raced 3 times at full throttle and all the way to redline. The disatance from Tuscon, Arizona to San Diego is roughly 420 miles, and i have around 750 miles on my car after the supercharger, so believe reliability is fairly good, although Scott at Trial did recommend an oil cooler and new radiator, as well as a valve kit if you plan on hitting playing around 7000 and up rpm's a lot. I'm leaving out a lot of details but I've gotten a total of 10 hours of sleep in the past 3 days, but I'll be sure to post some final pics of my car when I wake up..but in the meanwhile..here are a few pics of my trip! enjoy

Props, man. Can't wait to see dynos, and more pics. Would you be able to post a full write-up/review after you've driven it for a while? By the way, the Trial exhaust and header are just plain sick!

There is absolutely no mistaken an SC sits in there, but with the new CHP rule of catching aftermarket rides... I hope you take it easy on the gas when you spot a CHP, I know I have been

The entire project cost me around $7600, but Scott at Trial gave us all a huge break on the install price. I believe Scott is going to sell the kit for $6200 with Trial Data on the Power FC. The things that I got was the Trial Exhaust, Trial Header, Blitz Racing Plugs, Apex'i Power FC, and of course the intercooled blitz supercharger. The supercharger kit comes with their intercooler and piping, new oil pan, blitz lm intake, new intake manifold, new power steering cooler, the supecharger itself, and small stuff such as rubber tubing and clamps etc. The install and tuning of the supercharger took the Trial guys anywhere from 10-14 hours, but keep in mind that a lot of custom work needs to be done to make this supercharger fit the U.S. Celica....such as relocating the alternator, making certain holes on mounts bigger, making the front bumper fit the intercooler, etc..., and also remember that the installs were done in 100+ weather from 3pm all the way to the next morning with only 2 guys. I'm going to go outside and take some money shots for you guys! Pics will be up in about 30 minutes, and I'm going to try to get you guys a short clip of the sound of the sc and exhaust and a full throttle drive by this weekend when my roomate has time. so BRB!

Ok as promised here are the pics...btw...this supercharger is LOUD! The damn thing sounds like a rocket or bottle rocket fireworks being shot in the air! Oh btw...I know these pics are horrible, but I kinda just woke up and took the pics jus so that you guys could see them. When I have time later I'll try to get a better pic of certain parts or angles, or things that you'd like to see.

One more thing to note as far as the ride...lift as been lowered to 5500 rpm and fuel cut is set at 8000 rpm. Gnes100 and I have both floored it in 6th gear on the highway going at about 75mph and it has a good amount of power! Gnes100 floored in 6th, while I was in 4th gear not hitting boost....and he crept away from me...after about 2-3 minutes, I couldn't see him anymore..but this was done in the canyon..so he basically went up and down a hill before I go to the base of the hill in the canyon. Anyhow, enjoy the pics and if you guys have any questions just ask and I'll try to answer the best I can. BTW, thanks for the props and the warm welcome to the FI forum...Scott at Trial did take 2 vids of me at full throttle and 1 or 2 of gnes100...I'll ask him to send them to me when he gets to japan. Thanks!

Did they use that AF Boost meter to tune your setup or did they use wide band O2 sensor to tune it?
Just kind of wondering how they tuned that bad boy

Hey thanks a lot, I have summer school right now and it won't end until september 1st. I really want to run against one of the turbo guys just to see if I can hang. I'm sure the turbo guys are putting enough power to beat me, but traction and all that other junk will come into play. I just took my roommate out for a ride and floored in 1st gear for the first time, and I spun all the way to 8000rpm. I'm definately having fun with this thing! I also forgot to note that the Trial exhaust is super throaty, yet smooth. It's kind of hard to explain, but when I rev a little bit it sounds jus like an r6 w/ a muffler..it revs quick, but shuts down quick. Vids will be posted by the end of the week. I really hope that I will be able to run at Qualcom this friday, but I need new tires really bad. I probably have the crappiest tires ever made...kumho 711's....and another thing is that I haven't had a chance to try launching the car yet, because all this talk in the socal forum about cops pulling people over just for an exhaust has scared me to drive it hard on the street. I've only taken it really hard on the freeway. My next mods are probably going to be an oil cooler and new radiator, then after that, probably a valve kit. This supercharger has definately made me want to walk away from shows and do more track now.

Did they use that AF Boost meter to tune your setup or did they use wide band O2 sensor to tune it?
Just kind of wondering how they tuned that bad boy

From the pic that I posted, I think you can see the air fuel boost meter that they taped onto my dash. Unfortunately I wasn't able to ride w/ them while they tuned my car, but I do know this much. They used the data from the Trial Race Celica and other supercharged cars that they have installed and tuned in Japan as a baseline, and from there they tuned it a bit more to suit the US engines, using a laptop. Scott told me that they tuned the cars to run on the rich side to be safe, and this quite evident by the all the black smoke that comes out of my exhaust when I'm at full throttle and the black smoke marks on my rear bumper.

btw thanks mike for the props...do u know any good places to take some vids? I'd like to take some clips of your car running, so people on the forums can see and hear the sound of ur turbo set up, and also hear and see mine as well, just to make the vid a little more exciting and have some variety.

I'd say anywhere from 200-220 at most, don't know about the torque. I'm basing this off of my friends jackson racing sc'd integ type-r which put down around 211 when I rode in it, but that was like 3 years ago.
