Hi Larry, I had a question about an install I did on my 00 GTS Celica... So I put in a new stereo and found out that I needed a 20-pin harness, which I found and installed. Next, it was nice because it had RCA's for the speakers, however there were other wires such as red, yellow, blue, black. I figured out where everything goes except I’m now having "alternator whine" after having the stereo for two years and no problems. I've read that this sound comes from a bad ground but the harness had a ground wire that connected to the 20 pin connector... my thought was the pin connector probably has the best 'ground" where ever its connected to. Just so you know I used electric connectors to pair all the wires. In addition I have a subwoofer and have ran the power line and the remote line down the driver side of the car and the RCA for the sub on the passenger side. Any ideas about the alternator whine? Do you think it could just be the head unit?
