Yeah, I think that would be the best solution for me - I only do tight twisty sprints, I don't need crazy top speeds, just good acceleration.

Not sure I can afford it though!

I don't have problem with 1st or 2nd but the gap to third seems a bit daft - I guess they did that to make the 0-60 time good in just 2 cogs. Obviously it's made worse by the 2ZZ's higher redline...

Very,very impressive as usual!

Did Toyota ever make a short ratio set of gears for the MR2 Turbo? I'd get away with better ratios in my race class if the gears are Toyota OEM parts...

LOL - I would absolutely love to go twin charged but I have followed your epic build and know just how expensive that could be!

The Kazz gears look good but they are a fair chunk of change even...

Would I not actually need gear dependent boost?...

Would I not actually need gear dependent boost? Otherwise I'd just have better acceleration overall but an even more brutal difference between 2nd and 3rd!

I already have a bigger roots for next...

OK, so I've now done a few sprint races and a track day with this gearbox installed and I've got one race left at the weekend.

So far, I am not loving this box! The distance between 2nd and 3rd is...

Well I'm getting a bit tired of the PowerFC's random idling - warm idle was anywhere betweem 13.5:1 and 17:1 today. And my WOT fueling seems to be at 10.6:1 today (according to my UEGO, I don't have...

I just got a J&S Safeguard, and was thinking about that 2-wire sensor again. This time round I have a spare block that's out of the car so I can...

If it's just the gauges that might not be a problem for me.

I don't suppose you know what's required to get nice clean tail pipe emissions? If I can hold stoichiometric idle will the cat do the...

I'm in the UK - as long as the gas test is OK and the low-speed idle is in the factory range, it will pass emissions. I just don't know if the EMS-4 can hold a stable enough idle to pass.

If I go...

Could you please clarify what you mean by more powerful? Does the EMS-4 give you more resolution, more cells in the map etc?

And what, apart from closed-loop idle is the magic that makes a stock...

There are Mk 3 MR2 swaps (MR-S) of 2GR's - but it would be very heavy - do you really want that much weight at the front of a Celi?

So is an EMS-4 a worthwhile upgrade over a PowerFC?

I have been boosted with a Greddy SC since 2006ish, I started running with the stock ECU + eManage Ultimate hardwired in.

The eManage is fine - easy to tweak and the logging software is really...

Looks lovely

I wouldn't go too mad on the boost TBH - the MP62 is really inefficient, and you will be adding 80-100C to your charge air if you go too high.

I am running 10.5psi on the...

Well, I got it all together in the end. In hindsight, I probably should have just pulled the damn engine out and dropped it back in from the top.

I've got it running, but something isn't right -...

Hmm, so I go to bolt on the new flywheel, and it won't go on - there's some shiny bushing in the centre hole which stops it sliding on to the crank. No problem, I stick it in the press an pop that...
