1ZZ intake on 2ZZ

found a celica gt in junkyard with a decent CAI for $30, i didnt no at the time the 2zz has a bigger throttle body so, might as well make use of it,

so cant i just weld it a bit to make it fit? or its just plain retarded and cheap of me?

don't need to weld or anything, just get a larger coupler and clamp it down.

i have a AEM cai for a GTS in my GT, same difference

Not really Gino - the 1ZZ has a resin (plastic) manifold and you can't weld on a new TB flange

Adding a bigger TB might gain you high end hp, but only at the sacrifice of low end torque..If running your car s/s not worth it imo..I ran a 90mm TB on a 2zz and it was weak sauce until about 4k then hold on! Being in the upper R's all the time was fun, but short lived, starved the motor of oil wiped all the bearings only after a month of it...
