What did you do to your car today?

Bored...what did you guys do to your car today?

I finished stitching my interior and most of the bottom before I ran out of gas.

Didn't do anything to my car today... but I dropped the subframe and replaced all of the bushings on the front of the car on a few weeks ago if that counts.

Regardless, I demand more pics of your car!

I installed new wheels bearings, Broke two cast iron vices in the process.
Took my wiring harness out for the new installation. Prepped myself for dash removal yet again.
And painted my buddies rotas STI gold.

Switched back to the TRD exhaust cause it sounds better. replaced a front caliper and bled the all four corners. Scared the piss out of an old lady by locking up the wheels testing out the new caliper. Realized the brake caliper was not what was causing the noise on the right front . Also spent a couples hours scrubbing my wheels and the old magnaflow exhaust. I'm about to order some powergrid sway bar links to hopefully get rid of the awful sound coming from the right front corner

I filled up Shell V-Power gasoline in my car and cruised it around for a bit.
I enjoyed breaking peoples necks. I'm lucky nobody died from their injuries.

Nothing to my car today, or tomorrow. However, Tuesday will be the day.

Doing a complete compound, buff and polish job on the entire car. Then after that wiring in my radio. Sounds easy? No. Well it's not hard just takes forever. The rear speakers are 2ohm and aftermarket radios only handle 4ohm. To remove them you must remove the rear seats then rear deck, then fab up a custom mount for the speakers. Then bypass the amp and wire directly to the headunit.

Can't wait.

This wasn't today, but a few days ago, I fabricated a little "circulation station" for my phone.

I use it as a charge-and-play stand for when I listen to music. It get's really hot at times, specially when I'm using my GPS, so I put some fans behind some plexiglass and I added an LED behind everything for accent lighting. The top push-button on/off switch is for the fans and the bottom is for the lights. I wired everything to the wires behind the cigarette lighter. This is still the "prototype" so there are a few cracks on the edges here and there and the glue is really visible, but I will be making a legit one out of Lexan soon

Man my phone gets hot as f*ck too, what kind of phone do you have? I've been thinking about making a better heatsink for the CPU/battery.

Hey, applaud the wiring harness, too. Now I have IAC, O2 sensor, AFM, and random other stuff that was broken in the harness before. Car idles normally now (used to idle low when cold, high when warm ), and it boosts nicely in neutral.

Haven't been able to take it on the road yet, but it did well in the parking lot. We left it running for a long time to bleed the coolant and no issues, so it should be good to go with the axle and O2 sensor going in.

I have the HTC Incredible 2. I thought about making a heatsink as well, but that would require me to be constantly taking the back cover off to get to the battery to attach the heatsink every time I want to plug it into my car. And I'm not going to be walking around with a giant heatsink attached to my phone in my pocket lol.

I hear ya. My case is aluminum though so I really wouldn't have to take the case off, just use some thermal tape and on the case above the heatsink.

Droid2, I have it rooted and overclocked so it runs a bit hot sometimes. I've been waiting for it to break so I have an excuse to move to a newer one but I'll be damned if it hasn't kept chugging along.

I really wanted that phone for the longest time, but when I was about to get it, everyone was telling me that it was "old technology" and that I should go with something newer and that I would regret getting the Droid2 at this point in time. I was going to get the Thunderbolt originally, but it was way too big for my taste. Incredible 2 is the perfect size

Anyways, sorry for going OT. I will be making a final model of my "circu-station" (as I call it now ) out of Lexan soon. I will post here when I do

Might install my new aluminum 3" intake before the meet. Then you'll REALLY hear the turbo.

AC fixed, leaned out the intake by spacing the MAFS out about 2mm, going to check LFT in a few days to see what effect it's had. Feels slightly snappier, but butt dyno is too inaccurate.

Interesting. Does that mean that if you shave 2mm off from the MAFS mount, it'll make the AFR richer?

leaner, maf at warm idle went from 2.72 to 2.42 g/s. I'm spacing it out of the center of the air stream slightly and so it's seeing slightly less air than whats entering the engine. CL fuel trims will compensate and keep me stoich, but at OL like WOT it should lean it out slightly across the board. I now sort of wish I still had my old AEM WB from my last car still...but I'll watch LFT to see what the ECM is doing to add or take away fuel under CL and that will give me a good clue as to what WOT OL is looking like. I know that we typically run 12-10:1 through the rpm range at WOT, getting richer as the rpm's climb, so when I was sitting at -10 to -7 LFT I'm going to assume that WOT AFR's were in that range, so should lets say I'm not at -3 or 0 or even +3 and it feels a little crisper that I've leaned it out to be closer to 13-11:1 across the range at WOT. I can verify by roughly correlating the narrow band O2 voltage at WOT to AFR to confirm, my fluke's min/max is great for that, just piggy back it onto the primary O2 under the carpet and let er rip!
