Se7en Motorsports build

Hi guys,
Been a long time since ive had chance to get on NC, this is our on going race car build that will hopefully be finished one day.

From the start of its life as a 140 8 years ago to how she sits now days:

conversion and greddy sc install

Soon got board of the greddy sc kit, and after we had done a few rotrex sc installs i pulled out the greddy and installed our own SC kit and some TRD brakes

Used the car for about 6months and start stripping all down again

Sent the car away to get a FIA approved roll cage designed and welded in and started ordering parts

Car got back to me with a cage installed

Worked harder and got some cash together to start spending again

Got fed up with not having a celica so got this little beaut, the only white UK spec car to hit here, it was a special order

then it was back to spending again

REAL ONES, Not fake crap

new liners made to test

AP Racing Clutch

2.0L stroker kit, low comp

Got a new work shop, so put 1000 miles on the engine and then stripped it back down the check out the liners and everything else

AP Racing is only 5mins away from our little workshop so worked with them guys on 4 pot and 6 pot front brakes

Just dropping the car on the jig so we can spin her over

Then we had a aero guy work on the body of the car runing it on sims on the computer to get a good package together

got the 4WD gearbox mounted onto a mock built 2zz and test fitted into the car

Getting the rear diff sorted out and measured up so we can start making all the brackets and a new mount for it

finally got our 2 pot rear AP Racing brakes sorted and to us

Most of the fuel system is there just waiting for the main pump to get to us

Long road ahead still got shit loads to do and no time to do it

Oi Mabbs, less chat, more building!

See, when you put it all down in a thread like this it doesn't seem so bad does it? You've got the bulk of the build organised, parts ready, mocked up fitment on the AWD sysytem and a mahoosive turbo sat waiting to throw oodles of boost at a 'proper' race spec 2zz. I sit firmly in the "can't wait to see it finished" camp lol. You need owt, let me know.

yeah but if you were to use the matrix rear then it would be less work to mod what ever rear end you want to mate to the subframe and axles

I agree, all you would have to swap out the diff itself and the cv sections. Far easier than custom fiting the whole back end

yeah i have considered picking up a GTS for this reason and using a bosted 2zz mated to a W58 like the super 7 guys IE here

then i wanted to get a AWD vibe or matrix rear end and bolt it right up and from the ones i have seen making some tabs for a JZ drive line rear end or even a awd celica rear end < i would go that way as the rear end will be smaller and much more easy to fool with then all you would need to do is mate the rear spendals from the celica to the subframe and done... you would need the the celica axels and spindals as the matrix is more of a CV joint style and the celica stuff bolts in like a supra

Were building another Track car that will also run in the Time Attack UK championship next year so our car has taken a back seat.

But most of what we are doing for our own car is going on this car so we are getting on with things. At the moment the car is at our clay moulders for the body work we need making, it will be there for another 2-3 weeks.
I should have some small pics of how its going in the coming week, the body work is all to do with the areo work we have had done on a stock gen7 on the computer so its going to look a bit crazy, Its all being done for the sake of it being a Race Car the 2 cars we are building will spend most/all there life on track.

So we got the new front end nearly complete just a top mount bar to make when the car is back with us, we have moved the rad and intercooler forward into the bumper to give us room to make ducting behind the rad so we can get shot of the heat straight out of the bonnet

We had a rear wing made for the body kit with a 300mm cord so that got to us this week, Ive also started on the template for the mounting brackets, We just need to go back to the software on the computer and make sure we have covered the stress points then they will be CNC'ed out:

There not finshed yet ive got to get some more work done over the weekend

The adjustments are on the wing brackets BUT that said if more was needed a quick change to the cad file so it could be made with an adjustable rod in there.

We made some moulds for carbon doors, this was the first one pulled out just to check fitment, the final finshed product is much better

The clay moulding has now finished and we have pulled the first FG kit out, again we are just testing the kit for fitment, then we need to polish all the moulds and start pulling front, rear bumper, front wings and side skirts out in carbon. few pictures as the moulding was bring done:

Next up will be making the dive plates, bardge boards, front splitter and rear diffuser.
Loads to get on with and 2 cars to build before march lol

Did you get you car sorted out in the end mate ?

Ill have the moulds to make more, maybe be a bit ott for the road problem is you would have to run the diffusers, bardge boards, a wing and wide wheels to pull it off i think mate
