Hey, it helps to know the year of the corolla c60 and yeah I had a shop attempt this, they claim it interferes with the exhaust manifold when the cables turn 90 degrees to the side or possibly burn.
Note: confirmed this could explain why 98' up corolla cables are heat shielded by aluminum housing and not used on the 4age front exhaust or late model rubber hose counterpart.
Now if one is to solve this problem one must understand the problem, before one thinks one must feel.. that brake distributer interferes with the gear shift selector (it's too long) so depending on your budget there may be a way.
1. Relocate distributer or brake lines to Corolla spec. (hood won't close)
2. Removal of dash heater core to install doner cables or swap out lsd.
3. Cut boss out hole for celica shaft. (won't work on 'blacktop' c60)
I could go on if I knew the c60 origins.
