Yellow Celicas --Show Your Pride!

I'm a proud new owner of a 2003 Solar Yellow GT-S. I'm not gonna lie, the color was a bit overwhelming at first, but it's had a chance to grow on me, and I do believe I might even get used to it one of these days...

So anyway, I thought I'd start a thread to congregate all the yellows in one place. Actually, this is my sneaky way of trying to find out what mods/color schemes look good on a yellow Celica and what don't, but please post some pics! I wanna see what all you've done to make your Celi look as hot as it does.

Endnote: The title of this thread in no way implies that owners of yellow Celicas have any other pride to show than that for their cars.

When I was looking 2 buy my celi last month, there was a 03 yellow celi gts up in new hampshire that I had my eye on. But someone bought it out from under me when i was not looking. There one day and gone the next.

It had a really cool red and black viynal flames decal on both doors that I really liked. It had 45,000 mi & they wanted $18,000.oo

I ended up buying a 04 red GTS with 18,000 miles for $20,000.oo from Mass. I paid more but 1 yr newer & 27,000 miles less wear. No viynal flames, bo-hoo!

The flames you can get for 190.oo from JC Whithney or elsewear.

Anyway, the only colors I would consider was either yellow or red.

Red and Black detailing would go good with yellow. There are many shades of red ,so look to see what red shade goes best with your yellow.

The decals come in other shapes besides flames.

Certain shades of green , maybe a very light lime metal flake--looks like
baby new spring grass before it has time to get really green , could go well with reds,blacks and yellows.

Take a picture of your gts with a digital camera and download it into your computer and use a paint shop or photo retouching program to virtually paint your gts on the computer screen. I am sure you can come up with some killer combos this way. Then , save the ones with merit and make your final selections.

Print out a copy on your ink jet printer to see how it will look off screen and to give to the painter as a guide but make sure to select the actual paint
color from a paint chip because the printer may not properly reproduce the exact shade of paint that you choose.

Your car is amazing! When I first saw it I thought, "that's what I wanna do with mine!" The CF hood and trunk are :drool:! Hope you don't mind some car plagiarism.

One question: did you get the TRD kit after getting the Celica, because it looks like the paint is a tiny bit off. Otherwise, incredibly hot!

Thanks for the compliment, use any ideas u want :D

yeah, in canada you couldnt get the TRD kit in yellow. They always did only 2 colours with the kit, because the inside was also done up with accents. I really wanted yellow, and really wanted a sunroof so I ended up getting a kit after and getting it painted. I really debated about a TRD spoiler but ended up likeing the flow with the stock spoiler...

Again, before I hit a deer, and the cars a bit dirty. :D

Its 100% stock for now, came with the c/f dash, but i think im going for a all yellow, with c/f accents altho i think im sticking with silver wheels(not a fan of black rims)..might use red a little to break it up a little, but im trying to keep from the mcdonnalds look...
