wire hanging from under dash?

Can anyone please tell me what this wire goes to? its just loose right now when I was putting the dash piece on under the steering wheel it fell out near the peddles. Is it supposed to be connected to anything? theres a warning on it that says something like "Warning: Do not operate power unless connected to gauge" Here is a pic i took.

i have no idea what the wire is maybe to one of the gauges in the dash?

Is your car a GT from the non-alluminum peddles?

Yeah its a 2001 GT, What gauge could it possibly go to? Im trying to figure out where it goes before I just put it back together.

Have you reven tried cranking your car to see if all the gauges are working properly, like temperature, gas, rpm, mph? Idk how you would check the mph without driving it though :shrugs:

Ok so all the gauges appear to be working (cant try MPH right now) any other ideas? Did it go to anything in the first place, would toyota know?

Did you buy it used? Could it be to an aftermarket gauge the previous owner had?

Thats an aftermarket wire. Can you get a bigger, cleaner shot of what its connected to on the floor? Doesnt look very important.

Looks to me like a half wired relay switch.

Kick it back under the dash.
And if you see smoke, you know where its coming from atleast.

Its a faze gauge wire. Thanks for the help guys, I bought it from my friend, I talked to him and he said it was from the air/fuel ratio gauge he put it in, and took it out when the crystal cracked. Thanks for the help I just tucked it back under for when I plan to put an oil pressure gauge in, ill put that one back in as well.

I don't know why I didn't think of asking you that, because I also bought my car used and have some sort of switch that sometimes falls out at random times it is on the other side of the drivers area. I actually still do not know what it is for, but the first I found it I was like wtf is this :AF:

Glad you got your issue solved and hope you fix your CEL light problem... or have you already fixed that already.
