Just as the title reads, whos got a roof rack on their celica? Its going to be used for transporting my mtn bike and snowboards. What brand/style? Are you impressed with it? Does it scratch up your roof? How much did you pay? What im lookin for is a review pretty much. Thanks.

also they murder MPG. with the back seats down and front wheel off a mountain bike should fit in the celi...and a snowboard.

thanks guys, Ive been dropping the rear seats for about 4 years now and hate the fact that I lose the interior space. Whenever I go snowboarding I can only take two people, and whenever I go mountain biking I can only take one bike. Having a roof rack would help a ton.

Isn't it something of a fad now also to have roof racks on your cars?
its fad, but Im no hypebeast. I use my celica for trips to the snow, twisties, carrying detailing supplies, paintball gear, mtn biking, etc. This WILL be used for outdoor activites and not nonsense car shows.

snowboarding and mountain biking is my life. you can fold one seat down for snowboards, you dont have to do both of them. fit 3 boards and 3 people. and yeah you can only bring in one bike, but being able to fit a full downhill mountain bike in a tiny sports car is something all on its own. i'd say make ur friends drive when u take the bikes or take 2 vehicles, save the celi's paint.

the celi's paint is still lookin fresh. 88,000 miles and counting.:gap:
Ive done both, but this year were gettin cabins so I typically fold both down for suit cases, and other accessories. Im just glad this thing is a hatchback.

i've fit 2 mtn bikes at once with a sheet in between

and i've also fit 1 mtn bike and 2 fixed gears at once.

I guess you should just make the celica the transport vehicle and everyone else rides in another car. It will be lonely but damn .. the celica can definitely fit more then a midsized sedan maybe even fullsized. Probably damn close to a SUV too.

I guy across the ocean had a roof rack. He didn't get the bike rack where you take off the front wheel. Not the fork mount bike rack. Oh my did it look awkward with a mtn strapped to the top of the celica. I hate the fact that our roof's are so short. You'd need to get the extension set which will prolly run you another $1xx.00.

If you do get it, make sure to post pics. My interior is getting really dirty and scratched up from loading mtn bikes and gear.

mine too but i'd rather the back get scratched than the exterior, cuz i'm never stuck back there anyways

an alternative would be to get a hidden hitch and a bike carrier
Totally agree. I have this one installed and am very satisfied. Very positive experience buying from that store, too. It isn't very heavy, but it's a pain in the ass to install by yourself without at least a jack to hold it up while you bolt it on. Just remove your two rear two anchors and this thing bolts on to those same mount spots.

Looks very subtle when not in use, too. Here's a pic I snapped of it before my car went into the shop.

Yes, the car is very dirty and yes my license plate is crooked from being held on by a single bolt.

ALL THAT will be fixed when I get it back. :p

The other upside is when you're not towing bikes, you can put one of these badass little guys on the car.
