ok well a few months back my 00 2zz motor died....and just found a 2002 2zz with just 22k miles...ok ive heard that the 02 motor has more restrictions than the 00 models...like the feul cut off is 7800 instead of the 8300 on the 00 models...well how can i make the 02 more like the 00...?????

and I'll add that Toyota DID NOT make the motor any "weaker" in the '02 year just to match the lower rev limit lol.

will you be using an '00 ecu or '02 ecu? if you use an '00 ecu and '02 motor, just change to an '00-'01 knock sensor. that's all you would have to do.

read the whole thread as apparently there's more than one way to do it.

you can't change the rev limit with just an '02 ecu. you either have to 1) get an '00 or '01 ecu and do the knock sensor mod, 2) get a Power FC or 3) get an e-manage ultimate.

Edit: or 4) get a hydra ems.

Personally, I got a Power FC.

basically, you will be ok using that '02 motor as long as you plug your '00 knock sensor into it assuming you still have it.
