My 2000 GT-S rolled over 100,000 miles within the past 2 weeks. I just had the 'major tune-up' (plugs, etc), tranny fluid, 4-wheel alignment, oil change (bastards use dino, not synth and I didn't ask for it - *shrug*), mount & balance 2 tires, coolant flush & fill, clean & adjust rear brakes, fuel system cleaning, check TPS, check timing... think that's it. Ran me $567.

The fuel system cleaner worked wonders - throttle response is back and acceleration is smooth once again.

FYI, bought this animal, the first in our region, in October of '99. It has what amounts to about a season and a half of autocross on it as well. Dead stock except for Amsoil air filter.

I figure I've got at least another 150,000 coming ... and I'll keep gettin' 30-31mpg... yep, lotsa highway miles - love it!

Peace!

Oh man really!!! You mean not all Celicas are inherently flawed, which causes misshifting!? Some Celicas may actually live for an extended period of time!? Oh my God!

*** Please notice the sarcasm***

On a more serious note, great job and great car!

Fluke :)

Fords I've had or my family has had:

Escort - died at 60K
Mustang V6 - died rebuilt and sold at 82K
Crown Vic - engine rebuilt at 70K
Cougar - engine blew and was replaved at 90K, Tranny blew at 96K

On top of that I dont think ANY of them had a window motor last more than 4 years...

Do you still hit lift on a regular basis, like a 3-4 times a week? How about oil consumption, any problems with that?

Tell me about it.. when my dad was waiting for his brand new 4 runner they let us drive a ford station wagon in the meantime. It was brand new only had 8 miles on it..so we took it home. the next day it wouldnt start up at all. so we took it back and they changed it to a camry. the camry gave us no problems whatsoever..:applaud:
