From what I've heard, having 18" wheels clocks more miles on the speedo than there really is. So let's say that I traveled about 3k miles on 18" wheels with 215/35/18 tires. Is there a big difference between the actual miles?

Smaller wheels would have to cover the same distance with more rotations than larger wheels.. I so I think the opposite would apply. If thats how the odometer works?! (on wheel rotation)

Sorry, im talking bollocks :D

One rotation of a big wheel = more more miles covered than that of a small wheel :)

from this site:

circumference of stock gts: 205/50-16: 75.6in
circumference of 18"s : 215/35-18: 75.2in

75.2 / 75.6 ~ .5% difference

when your milage with 18"s reads 3000mi, you've actualy travelered 2984mi.
