I was checking Honda Japan and I came out with the question of:

Why some companies have splitted to sell in the US?
Toyota - Lexus
Honda - Acura
Nissan - Infinity
...

Wouldnt it be the same to sell a Honda Integra than an Acura RSX? o_O

Lexus, Infinity & Acura are the luxury arms of those companies. They just deemed it prudent to roll out a different nameplate to dissassociate their luxury offerings from the plebeian vehicles people like ourselves buy ;) . Well, mostly. The RSX was not that expensive which is sort of why it has been axed in North America.
Lexus for instance only just recently started offering vehicles in Japan.

Americans are too stuck up to buy luxury cars from everyday brands, so these companies had to come out with US luxury divisions to sell the same car with a different badge and some leather.

Also, along with these "ritzy" names, comes the justification for price markup.

What is really sad is when owners of these luxury brands refuse to acknowledge that they are driving a rebadged Toyota, Honda, or Nissan. :shrugs:

its a good marketing scheme, can you justify paying 40+ grand for a honda? now, under the acura name, they would sell

she asks a lot of questions

the only thing that is weird is the acura integra and the rsx. those cars just don't scream luxury.

and also, the maxima is becoming rather luxurious... but it's still under nissan's name.

There is also some law that limits a foreign car company to a certain number of cars to be in their lineup here in america. This is why they open up another company so that they can put more cars in america.

The next Acura RSX?

Is Honda Returning to Its Sports Car Roots?
Multiple Cars -- Including Acura RSX Successor -- Reportedly in the Pipeline

The rebirth of the Acura RSX, the car you see pictured here in an artist's representation, is also on the near-term agenda. According our sources, the next-gen RSX will inherit a version of the just-launched ninth-generation Civic Si's 201 hp, i-VTEC 2.4 liter gas engine with slick 6-speed manual and helical LSD. Fitted with specially tuned sports suspension, the new RSX will also employ an interior inspired by the current Civic Type R and an exterior in a sharp, wedge shape.

^ That's a guess. Chill the **** out.

Oooo.....a Honda version of the AWD Focus.....that would be awesome! But you are right, it would never happen.

Ah I see, I suppose that sharp fold on the side is Honda's current design language, forgot that the new Civic looked like that.
