I knew it! It is, after all, a Mitsu.

I'm surprised that article had the comparison, "Hyundai Elantra....sports car" over the new Lancer.

I skimmed through the article, did they jsut test the base model? What about the OZ Rally edition?

I wonder how the new Evo will do.
WHAT UP CHAD

The regular Lancer has always been a ****box, everyone knows that.

The Evo X will get all the electronic yaw/pitch/traction/t.distib finally on our US market Evo X's

Bryan! Of course the Evo-less models suck, but the commercial made it seem like the "rally inspired" Lancer is all that. :shrugs:

yeah
and the Evo X gets an open deck and aluminum heads instead of the old closed deck/iron block that let it hold 500+ whp on stock internals.

Of course, it was a commercial haha :gap:
OMG! Just like how McDonald's burgers look big on the commercial but in real life are flat as pancakes? :wtc: :chuckles:

Why did that one Japanese bank invest their money to bring Mitsubishi out of the hole? :chuckles:

Subaru WRX and Mitsubishi Lancer

These are already available in the market? I saw black 08 lancer like a month and a half ago at WAWA gas station. Then like 2-3 weeks ago, I saw a blue WRX hatchback crossing Woodrow Wilson bridge. My impression is that the lancer does not look all that in person, may look good if the one I saw is silver. WRX? I'd rather have the older WRX,. those hatchback is ugly. Looks nothing special. Subaru why?????

Considering that this is a base model versus thread...I'd go with the WRX just because it's factory turbo'd with AWD while the Lancer is a slow FWD turd.

But yes, the new Lancer looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL in silver. One was parked in the parking lot of the hospital I spent the whole summer volunteering by. I personally loved the lines of the car in silver, which is very rare due to my preference for black on all cars.

2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart

FULL STORY
A member of EvolutionM.net posted a photo of what's believed to be the 2009 Mitsubishi Ralliart, spied in the parking lot at Mitsubishi's Cypress, California headquarters. Based on the timing, we'd expect the Ralliart was preparing to ship to Michigan to make its official debut at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show.

well it looks like an EVO to me... what is the difference in this and the evo? the WRX/STi are different down to the motor... if this has the same motor as the evo, just tuned different, i don't see the reason for spending the extra cash for an evo...

on the other hand, there's nothing that says it will be AWD, and if it's not, i can't see it being competition for the WRX... srt4 maybe...

Ralliart Lancer will have the same engine as the Evo but with a less powerful turbo... and probably other small differences. WRX and STi share the same EJ25, but again, WRX is a more "tame" version of the STi.
I'd get the Ralliart version.

^^Turbo and possible AWD

I knew it wouldn't be long until the Ralliart was out! I'm surprised though, I figured it would be like the last incarnation and only have a mild HP increase and a lip kit. The pic looks more like an EVO to me. But makes a lot of sense for Mitsubishi to class it similar to the WRX.

with this car, expect the WRX to disappear from the enthusiast's radar all together - the evo > sti
ralliart > wrx

of course, the base impreza is still miles and miles beyond the base lancer GTS - the base lancer is a huge gigantic steaming turd
