FULL STORY
BMW has begun another testing phase for its next-generation 5-Series executive sedan, which is expected to be available in early 2010 — roughly two years from now. The car was spotted in the Arctic Circle for cold weather testing.

Design of the sixth generation 5-series — codenamed F10 — is being overseen by BMW’s head designer, Adrian van Hooydonk. Unfortunately, the heavy camouflage of this test car hides.

^Dude, the only part of the car that doesn't have camo is the roof and the wheels.

lol its not gonna have those gills on the rear pillar, you can totally see that the gill area is a piece of camo bolted on, hell you can see the rivets around the gill camo piece lol.

styling wise bmw is turning into a joke

Are you kidding me?

Looks good, even with all the Camo. I hope the 7-series style trunk lid makes it to the production model.
he seriously believes that it will come out looking like that?

2010 BMW 5 series

complete article
Auto Zeitung, reveals that BMW may in fact be embracing the 5-series' polarizing looks, including some influence from the inflammatory CS Concept. This is an odd strategy, however, given that the recently revealed all-new 7-series has moved away from the Bangle-influence flame-surfacing design to a more generally palatable look.

Coming in towards the end of 2010 will be the next-generation M5 sporting a larger displacement 5.5L V10 and possibly forced induction for extra power. Later in 2011, expect the inclusion of stop-start technology for reduced emissions and improved fuel economy in the less performance-oriented models.

I'm glad BMW's doing away with the Bangle designs and getting back to something more evolutionary. Hope, the next 5 turns out great.

Your thoughts...

Look at the new 7 series. The new 7 does not have those tails anymore. I highly doubt that bmw will recycle a style like that.

2010 5 Series GT Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS)
complete article
Also like the X6, the new model will only be a four-seater and feature individual bucket seats with full heating and massage functions. Other design details expected to feature include a hatchback rear with a split-gate rear portal. These new renderings preview the final car's expected appearance.

BMW will once again be stressing the car's coupe-like characteristics just as it did with the X6. Expect to see extremely short overhangs, flared fenders and optional 21in wheels. The wheelbase will stretch just over 3m with an overall length of at least 4.90m, making the new model slightly larger than the X6.

I think it's an abomination, but after seeing and sitting in a X6...I'd hit it.
