Datsun will pull the covers off its all new car for Russia on April 4, 2014, in Moscow.

In advance of this symbolic event, that will celebrate the brand's entry into the dynamic Russian automotive market, Datsun has released a sketch and an animated video of the exciting new model. Check out the video above.

The Datsun launch in Russia is particularly significant for the global expansion of the brand as it is a key market that offers Datsun great potential for growth. Furthermore, it is the first time in Datsun's history that the brand has been introduced to Russia officially.

Russia welcomed the Datsun on-DO sedan to the local market, a debut also for the iconic brand in the country. Nissan Motor CEO Carlos Ghosn said Russia is the first country in the region where all three company brands - Datsun, Nissan and Infiniti - will be sold, and expectations are for 100,000 sales in the first two years.

Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn said sales of Datsun models could hit 100,000 in Russia alone within two years, part of a global high-growth market focus already taking the brand to India and Indonesia.

The first Datsun on-DO officially rolled off the production line Monday at AvtoVAZ's historic Togliatti plant, a keystone event for the brand in the Russian car market.

Datsun, the newest automobile brand in Russia, celebrated its first appearance at the prestigious Moscow International Autosalon (MIAS) today, showing two new models.

The Datsun on-DO sedan, which goes on sale in September, is joined by the brand new Datsun mi-DO hatchback.

Datsun mi-DO is a practical yet sporty five-door hatchback with a strong masculine appearance: modern, robust and confident.The car makes its worldwide debut at MIAS with sales due to start in early 2015.

“The Datsun concept of offering a new car from a foreign maker at a highly affordable price has struck a chord with Russian car buyers,” said Vincent Cobee, Global Head of Datsun.”
