Rumored Specs for the Toyota Supra Have Leaked



Toyota‘s newest sports car could have 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque.

The Japanese automaker recently confirmed a racing concept will debut at the 2018 Geneva MotorShow, previewing the new Supra. But according to Japan’s Best Car magazine, the sports car will get its motivation from a BMW 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six engine providing 335 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, while tipping the scales at 3,284 pounds. Compared to the previous model, the new car is 5.4 inches shorter, 1.7 inches wider, and 0.6 inch taller. Its wheelbase measures 97.2 inches, which is 3.2 inches shorter than the old Supra.

Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept




The most highly anticipated new car of the past few years has finally debuted. Sort of. The resurrected Toyota Supra still hasn’t been unveiled, but this Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept is the closest we’ve been so far.

Debuting at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept (GR stands for Gazoo Racing) signals that the Japanese automaker is committed to bringing back its iconic sports car and essentially confirms that it will have a big presence in motorsports (just like the old Supra) when this compact sports car finally does debut.

I believe it will do well sales wise. The front clearly pays homage to the MKIV which will likely attract fans.

Toyota Racing announced its famed sports car will return to production and compete in NASCAR in a press conference at Daytona International Speedway on Thursday, July 5 with Toyota Racing drivers Kyle Busch and Christopher Bell, along with TRD, U.S.A. (Toyota Racing Development) president David Wilson and Toyota Motor North America group VP of Toyota Division Marketing Ed Laukes.
