Lately the Supra community has been less interested in 1/4 times, their new love is the Mile.

The Texas Mile was last weekend. The Supra still holds the record for street car top speed(beating out TT Gallardos, TT Ford GTs & TT Vipers)

I've atually seen that car (the one from Autobahn Motorsports). The turbo on that thing is rediculous. It would give a peterbuilt turbo envy.

The flying mile is measured in top speed, not elaped time.

I think the record is right aroound 200 mph, which is pretty damn good from a stop.

Not even close.

The record holder goes to SW & the BoostLogic team.

This car did 246mph from a dead stop.

I also believe this is his 6spd 1/4 record car as well, 7.91 @ 188.9mph.

Both Autobahn(Amit) & SW's cars blew on this past Saturday. The AB car ran 227 before the head lifted, and SW ran 243mph before Camshaft issues.

Thats awsome. When I talked to the guys from Autobahn it was at a meet like 4 or 5 years ago, but at that time they claimed they held the record.

Flying mile of a hell of a tough event. Engine has to make peak power for waaay longer than it does when drag racing.

Yeah, the Autobahn crew seem like good guys. It was really sad to hear that the top 2 Supras broke this past event.

It amazes me how these cars are capable of such high speed with minimal to stock body work. 16yr old Toyota design FTW.

They are also still using stock gearing from what I have heard. The issue is that they run out of room to shift to 6th, so they ride 5th out insanely long. The 246 record pass had the sucker revving to 8500-8600RPM sucking in 35psi.

That car is also for sale. The person who did that swap also was one of the first to do a 2JZ swap into a FD.

After going under the knife for a 2J bottom, Borg Warner single, Getrag 6 speed, HKS twin. . (and a "few other things"). Needs tuning. . But so good so far. .

It seems low because he is running a TH400. Those trannys eat a lot of HP.
