Hi all :)

Having a bit of fun with a stock 2ZZ with a 2871R hanging off the side and had a few questions for you all:

1 - Are the single-wire knock sensors normally quite 'noisy'? - The PowerFC in use picks up knock values between 3-9 even at light load and even once coming up onto boost, it sits around 10-14ish. We see spikes in knock to the mid-30s right as you upshift, which is unusual too. This alone makes me wonder if there is some kind of 'noise' issue with the sensor, or if there is a tendancy for these engines to ping during 'tip-in' acceleration.

2 - We are looking to find some VVT maps for turbocharged 2ZZ motors, that we can use to work out where to go with this one. It appears that all the threads that would allude to these all have broken image links and they no longer work - does anyone have anything that is not hosted by Photobucket that we could have a looksee at? :)

Thanks in advance!

Looking back @ an older post, the original PFC was designed for the single-wire knock sensor. The '00-'01 MYs used a fixed frequency sensor. The sensor was different between GT & GTS. '02+ went to a wider bandwidth sensor.

Sorry, can't help ya much beyond that.
