Thought I would share a modified 2z from a race car which we run in new Zealand.

Nice, very nice. I wonder what something like that costs, could you give us a ball park figure and specs? I for one am curious.

They run them in a small f1 looking car, I'm not sure on the cost I only know the guy who builds the engines and helped design them for toyota here.

Well that obviously wouldn't fit in a standard car, I'm interested in engine internals, management system stuff like that. Info that could possibly help us 2ZZGE enthusiasts over here with our goals.

They have to keep stock internals, I'm not sure on ecu but I can find out more when I see the guy again.

I doubt boosted's manifold will look anything like that, that thing is huge but it leaves alot to wonder how much power they are running off the open header and crazy intake. You can see a differant pully in one picture.

I believe they are made more for reliability hence they run a dry sump etc. Factory 2zz would make roughly 180 HP from the engine. This means they have gained 35hp from modifying the intake and header. I don't think they are going for all out power as the header is 4-2-1 design more of a broarder power range.

Nice :)
does it have air injection holes blocked off LOL
so it must be a 2004+ 2zz right?
It wont fit into mr2 spyder for sure
probably lotus w/open hood hence the bend toward the header

what does it say on the sign cannot read it its too small?

The valve cover looks huge what is that big bolt looking black thing on the side?

215 hp at the crank... but at the wheels it's probably under 200 still, especially if they have the stock internals. but I bet a custom dry sump, the intake and header bump it up there quite a bit since we cannot make those kinds of mods on a DD, nor have those parts fit in our engine bays.

plug for a coolant hose im guessing. there's another one on the front by the custom oil pump with the shiny red hose =P when in the car the hoses would be running off of those areas. plugged while on display

just imagine this engine with with a built head and bottom end
