Guys,

I could really use your help.
I am currently running the GT stage 1 kit @ 5-6 psi..
I want to install the crower FI cams and raise the boost to 8 psi...

What I was thinking is.. since the FI cams probably open the cams faster and further (and/or longer) more air will come in the cylinders offcourse, thus gaining power.

Will the FI cams generate more pressure on the pistons/rods than stock cams? More air + fuel = more powerfull explosion I assume..

I consider 8 psi still safe on the stock engine.. how about 8 psi + FI cams?

you must!!! use engine management with the FI cams...John lost power when i installed his using the stock ECU...I had never driven his car before so i thought it was really fast and boned out...but when he drove it, he noticed it was underpowered..he lost about .5 seconds in the 1/4 mile too...We were in the middle of tuning the car with a PFC when he got pulled over and hassled by cops...so he might have a set for sale....

I am using the Greddy E-manage offcourse and I am looking into some very interesting features on logging AFR on the map and making changes according to that, even a closed loop system is in the works..

Anyway..
My question is... will the crower FI cams increase the pressure on the rods/pistons when I keep boost at the same level (6psi) ?

I'll keep it simple....more power equals more pressure. How's that sound?

That's what I figured indeed.

Then my trade-off would be..
up the boost to 8 psi = free (or buy a BC)
OR
install cams + valve-springs = at least 1000 euros..

Yeah its really going to be your call on this one Immo, i personaly wouldent go past your post of 8psi. Any more than that and your asking for a rod to go through your block:bang: . Just be carefull ! keep us updated.

No, it was a combination of a lot of things and personal reasons. However that did make my decision easier. I was debating it for a while, and that was kinda the last straw i guess you could say.

Some of the guys on spyderchat are running 10psi on stock internals and doing fine. The kit is intercooled though, and I'm not sure what the C2power stg1 kit has.

which will gain me more..
cams or raise the boost 2 psi..?
My guess is it will gain me about the same.
Doing both might be too much for my stock engine.

BTW, all c2power kits are intercooled

again does the emanage allow tuning for vvt?

if it doesn't they you wont get squat out of the cams and you will actually lose power.

No E-Manage does not allow tuning for VVT and I do not think you want a piggyback to do that either because it is too sensative a thing to play with on a piggyback.
I was interested in getting John's cams but he never got back to me how much he wants for it

Sorry man, I missed that. Like cool2mike said. Emanage doesn't allow vvt tuning..
So for the cams I'd really need a powerFc ?

Than my choice will be a lot easier
