My car at the moment is in the shop, so ive been having some fun with some rentals.
first i got a Chevy silverado, nice truck but rattled like crazy and had a bad smell of ciggerette. so i took that back and picked up a 03 ford F-150 super crew, gotto give ford a thumbs up for a nice interior as compared to the silverado, but this truck was slow as f**k. i missed the power of the silverado so i went back to get a newer one, but they were all out. instead i got a durango that looks like the base model but i popped the hood and bam there a 4.7 liter V8 under the hood, this thing is fast for an SUV.
so me and revhappyGT-S were leaving one of my other friends house and we spotted a 95 2g GSX. i knew the guy raced because of his gages on his a-piller. so i got right next to him and started giving it gas and taunting him but he wouldn't do anything so i was like alright lets just go home. then he floors it and i go for it to but the light turns yellow, and we are both ready to go, so i start to roast them by braking and giving it gas and then the light turns green. i let go of the brake and goosed it and at 70mph he was a good 10 cars behind. and still trying to catch up.... i know it hard to believe but it is true....

just thought id share

this is what i think happenned, you worked him off the line with a good reaction and a good launch (can't really mess up with an automatic, if you know what i mean) and he just messed up on his launch so after that he just sayed hell with this, i'm not even going to try and catch up so he just casually stroll along while you are speeding ahead. I mean if he would have stepped on it, he could have made up that distance and pull on you easily. This just shows that anything can happen on the street. Good kill nonetheless, :)

on the other hand, when you bog in a GSX it takes a while to get back to speed. A guy in XFactor had one that I ran quite a few times...on one occasion, I was riding IN the car, he was running someone else in the crew, and he bogged off the line...it took a LONG time before he was even able to maintain and equal distance behind the guy...and he had it floored the entire time.

A poor launch can easily cause an AWD car to get slaughtered by a MUCH slower car. And the Durangos do feel pretty fast...especially those R/T's

what turbo was he running? and supporting mods?

i've learned that unless you do it a certain way, DSM's, even with the baddest turbos, can be slugs.

well i have to give the probs to trucks like durango and Grand Cherrokee...i mean they always bit me first and second gear if they know how to drive due to torque, but after that i slowly start to walk them

1/3 parts, 1/3 tuning, 1/3 driving

How do you think Tony managed a [email protected] on a 2G AWD DSM with just exaust, intake tube, clutch & S-AFC? kickass driving and tuning :)

theres several 2G dsm owners i think now that have broke into 13s with T25.. and 13s in 14B is common.. thers people who have hit 12s in the 14b.. so if u beat a 2G turbo dsm.. must have been cause they on the stock t25.. even the older turbo dsms can be faster with their stock turbo..
